description
|
Tamiya attempted to improve upon the decade-old & very popular Clod Buster by bringing out a whole new Ford 350 Monster Truck. This now had its twin motors mounted inboard and side-by-side on the chassis, not one on each axle like the Clod.
However within weeks reports came back from owners about melting gearbox cases and stripped gears... Tamiya quickly redesigned the gears & cases to incorporate beefier internals and heatsinks; they supplied "Care Packs" with these new components and additional ballbearings to all exising owners (contact your Hobby Shop if they don't know you have a Jugg1).
Not long after the Juggernaut #58232 was quietly withdrawn from sale thus original unbroken Juggs are relatively rare and collectable due to its short production run; it was subsequently re-released as the Juggernaut II (see #58256) with the uprated gearbox design & a few minor changes (decals, box art, some minor molding differences in the chassis parts).
