The only car built on the TA-02SW (short & wide) chassis. Also the only TA01/TA02 with silvercoloured gearboxes. The Taisan Starcard is now a much sought after Tamiya car. The highly detailed Porsche body (modelled on the Japanase sports car championship winner) makes for a great looking kit. A must for the collection if only to look at. With the short wide version of this chassis it makes for a nice runner with good handeling. If you run it with the stock motor you wont get much top speed out of it. However to spice things up a bit a semi hot wind motor and the speed tuned gear set can make for a nice fast car that looks great on the track or parking lot. As a runner (mine has a 13 Trip) you can expect to go through the tires quite fast if you run with a mod motor. The stock tires are not much for grip either as the car can almost run as a drifter. But what fun it is! My recommended upgrades are hard prop shaft, ball races, and a must have is a motor mount of aluminum or similar metal as the plastic stock mount will melt with most any motor other than stock. Other nice upgrades but not necessary are universal shafts, a front one way and the frp or carbon chassis set.
