- Nice work boys, looks like fun was had all round. SRB Bloke
- Thank you ! Iīm not sure if i get your question right... The SandScorchers are modelled in CAD (CATIA), i will remodel it in C4D when i will find some time. Then with the 'real' SandScorcherīs nosecone. The plants are taken from a CAD library. The whole animation is made with Cinema4D as well, i used the 'drive-plugin for C4D' this time to get the most realistic looking driving behaviour of the cars. For sure, many hours go into such an animation. modelling, texturing, lighting, animating, rendering, after effects, cutting and sound. Average rendering time per frame ! is about 2 Minutes or more. And the video has 25 fps... that makes abou 1 hour rendering time for 1 second of video material. Thanks for watching ! oldsterolli
- Fantastic! Donīt tell me the models were done by hand?? swedishwiking
- Fantastic video TamOR, an absolute pleasure to watch! Thanks. Mogul
- Hi ! You are reading my thoughts, arenīt you !? Wild Wendy would be a nice model for practicing, i already thought about that... :) hm...a short racing movie would be nice, too. Letīs see if i will find time. Hope so ;) thanks for the comment ! oldsterolli
- Hello Buddy, Good to see another animation, very cool and leaves you wanting to see more.! Any chance of movie ? maybe Wild Wendy could make an appearence ;) ;) SRB Bloke

- I agree, a longer front mount and maybe one or two holes down on the rear body mounts would help. Steffen
- You've done a GREAT job turning that blackfoot in to Ranger... with a little modification that back end could sit a little lower, or maybe pull the front up a little. :) SRB Bloke
- @ RACECRAFTERS: Cheers for sharing mate! And luckily I was (among many of us who raced in the late 90's era 540 silver can class) had the chance of racing them had the advantage and blitz the competitors! The 4 hole J was apparently equipped with softer brushes that negated the need for breaking in (as I was warned at the time) plus other subtle tweaks to make it run quicker. The motor that I gave my lil bro was among my ex-racing J's and now as it dawns on me how quick these buggers were/are!! I still have my Trinity Brian Kinwald motor lube I had since the old days that I use for all my brushed motors and YES I AGREE motor running in and maintenance, suspension setup and tyres (as you mentioned) is PARAMOUNT for competitive edge! :) sunnyjai
- @ berman: Thanks for sharing your views. I personally have not tested teh box'd 540J motor so i'm unsure how they perform. I have 4 types of 540's from leftover kits namely the 4-hole J, the current SH which adorns all the re-re buggies, the slivery cheapie looking SH that adorns all the TT01's to late and of course the vintage S (in beige and black endbell versions). And I can also say the 4-hole can somehow be geared up a few times and still doesn't miss a beat whereas the end bell of the 2hole Mabuchi of the same period (circa1990's) would turn light purple so have to gear down or else over consume power (since that time we only had 1400mAH restriction and 8minutes race)... sunnyjai
- Your attempt with resurrecting the F150 is a good one. The paint job and details are brilliant. You should make the extra effort Steffen, to fit that body right. It will make a world of difference to the overall appearance of a pretty kewl original. ;) RACECRAFTERS
- She looks like a beauty! I agree, since Tamiya has also re-released the Clod Buster a gazillion times why not!!! Mr Tamiya execs, if you're watching this please take mental note - re-release the F150! No excuses! :p sunnyjai
- As >smitchos< has said, the 4 hole can is the fastest, but were only available in earlier kits and not legal anymore in sanctioned events. The J motor is regarded as the sanctioned motor for Silver Can Stock racing. The rules state that it must remain untampered with, however, there are ways of making it more effiecient/faster. Hence, running-in procedures are paramount. There are various methods/theories to this and ONE of them works better than others. ;) Keep well clean, bushings lightly lubed with very low viscosity oil and cool. But it's really all about the right tires! :) RACECRAFTERS
- @Racecrafters thank you sir!@ Toykid, thanks for the compliments as well. The period correct tires and wheels will have to step aside for this build, I'm going Rulux and Prolines all the way;)@sludgeguts, thanks for the shell tire compliment, I saw this combo over at RC10talk and loved the look. It is fun to drive for sure.@Howitzer, thanks and I'm looking forward to the rere as well. I got my order in ASAP. It going to be freakin awesome. I just geekier out for second sorry chaps.@Darth my bro, you deserve the props man, it really adds something and ill continue to use this trick in other builds.@DennisM, thank you kind sir.@MB, I like the last pic too, I have a fleet to show sometime. ModMax
- First sentence says it all. My goodness they are a beautiful truck, the childhood memories. Probably one of the most demanding bodies IMO, it has to be perfect and boxart, and all the little black details have to be done too. :) All the Best! berman
- Wantwantwantwantwantwantwantwantwant.... :D berman
- Shame about the rust, must be from being driven outside on the salt roads? Anyway they are a top truck and when all shined up and the bells and whistles sorted they are a one of Tamiya's standout units. Enjoy the tidy up, no doubt she is going to look amazing! :) berman
- The 'J Motor' that comes in the cardboard box with the blue writing is 255g/cm torque and only 14,500rpm. The Mabuchi motor that came in the majority of kits with the round sticker is 15,080 rpm and 195g/cm torque, the 4 hole Johnson is a super secret Area 51 alien blend that if talked about puts you outside of the circle of trust :P No but that 2003 J motor was only good to gear up a tooth and use the available torque and to match the rpm of the common Mabuchi silvercan I have a few 4 holes, and yes they are noticeably higher rpm. The other two (S and J) I find subjective. :) berman
- Tamiya-runner Its going to be good and I'm going to start mine over the school holidays. Sunnyjai You know your stuff! And I know you are a fan. bdamit, Thank you, I genuinely appreciate your comments and I'm pleased you enjoyed it. MAD-BEE, there be no sand for this big boy, it will be all show! My Blackfoot is still in the garage after its beach/rock-face and golf course holiday! Grumpy pants
- Quite fancy one for some beach fun!! A cool looking Tamiya! very nice buy buddy. Cheers pal. MAD-BEE
