Problemchild 2149 Posted October 19, 2016 just because its bendy doesn't mean its not strong...... look at the wing of an A380 - the tip can deflect up to 7meters they aren't worth the money though Just considering LiPo options and what ESC combo to get (the tamiya ESC won't deal with LiPo so that can go in the beetle with a slightly higher turn motor and just use the NiMh thoughts on these... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-6200mAh-7-4V-2S-40C-Lipo-Battery-Pack-Deans-for-RC-Helicopter-Car-Truck-Hobby-/252526733625?hash=item3acbc42939:g:qJgAAOSwdIFXzUqh JJ
Illogical 141 Posted October 19, 2016 I just received 3 of this same brands 3S sticks today for my neighbor - I had two on my charger at 6A and after about 100 minutes I turned the charger off as they weren't balancing. I'll put them back on tomorrow and see if they balance. The 3S don't have a hard case so will need protection. My neighbor had a 2S from them before but it was hard cased - it puffed but that was his own fault for charging it without a balance lead! I'd look for the hard case version if the battery is exposed at all (as it is on a Lunch Box). You should compare prices to Ebay Germany - I paid 18 pounds for each stick delivered (I made an offer) so 2S should be a little less. I recetly fitted a TSKY 120A ESC to my neighbors car for him and it seems to work well - the 3S may prove too much for it though, we shall see.
Illogical 141 Posted October 20, 2016 Another 230 minutes and two are still not balanced. I have three packs: Pack 1: 3.98V 4.20V 4.21V Pack 2: 4.22V 4.16V 4.08V Pack 3 managed to balance, each cell is 4.20V. Make of this information what you will - maybe they will even out over a couple of cycles.

I put the DF02 gears (or whichever ones fit) in mine, and it still clacks a bit. I need to trim down one of the gears though to see if fitting that helps. Huge amounts of torque steer too, did you firm up the diffs any?

jupitertwo 1484 Posted October 26, 2016 11 minutes ago, Problemchild said: i like those tyres - tell me more JJ They're Louise MT-Rockets in black. http://www.louiserc.com/products_detail.php?M=0&uID=1&cID=29&Key=145 I got them from EBay, but HobbyKing etc carry them now. The look and feel great, but all I've run them on is wet grass, so I can't comment on grip

Problemchild 2149 Posted November 24, 2016 need to add Quadcopter to the title as because of theibault's drone flying vids on here i've had to buy one.... Walkera Rodeo F150 150 Racer Drone set up for FPV flight (when i get the confidence) Second hand this was pretty cheap with controller, 4 x LiPo and loads of spares for under £150 wonder how quick i'll be smashing it to pieces JJ

Problemchild 2149 Posted December 18, 2016 well my trip into quad flying hasn't gone well TBH having learnt the basics up and down the drive i took a trip out to the local fields to practice banked turns etc ...only then did i realise i had range issues and "failsafe" was set to hold so the quad climbed and climbed and climbed!! Tx turned off as last resort and down she came........... all "skids" destroyed and some broken chassis areas. actually i'm really impressed how well it withstood the crash so new Rx board added (no change) so have had to order a new 2.4ghz Tx also fixed some bits as spares are mega cheap...
