  1. That is very tempting, as it's a rare find these days, but it's at the very top end of my budget. I was hoping to find something used so I could still afford a new shell, wheels/ tyres etc. If you don't mind, I'll keep looking for a while, but I may give you a shout after payday at the end of January
  2. I'm looking for a DF03Ra rally car, I had one when they first came out and regretfully sold it. Ideally I'm looking for a rolling chassis, I have electronics waiting to go in it. If I can't find an "Ra", I'm happy to convert a Dark Impact buggy if anyone has one they'd be looking to sell. Thanks!
  3. Awesome, thanks very much for the info!
  4. Aha, thanks very much! I might have to go have a look for a carbon reinforced chassis then! Do you notice a weight difference with a shorty, or is it just the better weight distribution?
  5. I don't suppose you'd mind sharing a bit of info about how you fitted the shorty pack in your TA04? Have you had to grind out the reinforcing webs in the battery compartment? I'm looking at buying batteries at the minute, shortys would be good for this and hopefully my DF03 too.
  6. Hi Simon, thanks very much for the info! Yes it is the Iconic Cup I'm going to do, I've been out of the hobby for ages and not really raced on-road before (bar a couple of tedious indoor meets) so looking forward to giving it a try. I'll be at West London definitely, but the Broxtowe event clashes with a work 1:1 race in Belgium so I don't know if I can make that one. I'm going to have to run in GT, my chassis is bog standard but I don't really have the budget to be going back to a brushed motor/ ESC, when I had a 13.5 set up ready to drop in. I'll have a look into the fun meet, even if I can only pop up to have a look around, it'd be nice to go to an on-road meet with a friendly atmosphere!
  7. My TA05 is back on eBay, now as a rolling chassis: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-TA05V2-R-Touring-Car-rolling-chassis-84159-/262322907012?hash=item3d13a9e784:i:262322907012
  8. I've recently bought a TA04 to have a go at racing, and I was wondering what to do about the gearing. Race rules say I have to use either 04 or 06 module, but is there any significant benefit to choosing one over the other?
  9. My TA04S turned up, so I took that to bits and made a list of bits that I want for it... That was fun until I looked at how much it would cost, so to cheer myself up I dug out the old Losi Micro-T and wound the cats up for a while.
  10. Some of you may have seen this in the off-site sales section recently, as I tried selling it on eBay, but the winning buyer has since told me he can't pay for it. Foolishly, around the time my auction finished, I bought a TA04 with the money I thought I was getting, so now I really need to sell the Porsche! I bought this car second hand, in a used & abused state, and have been gradually restoring it over the 10-11 years that I've owned it. In that time it's had a new tub, rear gearbox, full RC Bearings bearing set, bodyshell, wheels & Tamiya slicks (not glued). The car came to me with new friction dampers, these are still on the car. The suspension has been shimmed to remove any play/ slop and feels great. The steering links were very tired so these have been replaced with Tamiya turnbuckles. The only negatives for the chassis would be that the front & rear bumpers are quite scratched (cosmetic damage only), and there are a few minor scuffs to the bottoms of the wishbones and front gearbox. The front driveshafts are also a little worn. It also has the original silver can motor with a new pinion, and a basic Hitec steering servo. The body has been painted in Tamiya anodized aluminium blue, the rear wing was shortened to look more like the road car, and it has front light buckets (no LED's yet) from the GT3 VIP shell. The rear lights are also painted translucent red under the current sticker, should anyone wish to try to fit the rear buckets too... The few stickers that are on the shell are from the more recent GT2 re-release. Car comes with its original box, but the manual is a copy I printed from a downloaded pdf. I'd like £115 plus postage, or could be collected from Bedford area. May be willing to ship overseas.
  11. Hi guys, I'm trying to find good homes for a couple of my cars, yet unfortunately I find them on eBay... Basically I'm trying to raise funds to get something to race in the Iconic Cup to get back into the hobby. Firstly is my restored TA02SW, Taisan Starcard Porsche. Lovingly restored from a battered mess, over about 10 years. I can't bring myself to drive it, and I have nowhere to display it. Secondly, my TA05V2R (84159) touring car, built to race but it was all a bit too serious for me. It has only run twice on carpet, and is immaculate. Every hop-up on the chassis is genuine Tamiya (including the extras, such as differentials and springs), and has a full race quality electric kit (Tekin Redline 13.5, Xtremestock ESC with all the programming kit, Associated XP1015 servo & Spektrum SR3500 receiver). If anyone is interested in the chassis I'd be happy to remove the electrics and sell it as a "roller". Thanks for looking! Ritchie
