  1. I have recently purchased a Escort Cosworth Michelin Pilot which appears to have been a shelf queen as the majority of the car is mint. The tyres are unused but flat spotted pretty badly. Is it possible to resurrect flat spotted tyres?
  2. Superb build, thanks for sharing. I am so jealous as I'm craving for a BW to add to my collection. Just shows what you can do with some professional advice from this forum and some good fortune on eBay!!! I'm about to rebuild a Escort Cosworth Michelin Pilot next month which I picked up off eBay. Not sure it's particularly interesting to this group but might post pics on this forum anyway.
  3. Thanks, but this is the original part reference which I'm struggling to get hold of. I'm surprised they are not easier to find!
  4. Hi everyone! I have just acquired an Escort Cosworth Michelin Pilot (ex shelf queen - allegedly!). I got it working only to find the rear wheels had no drive. On dismantling the rear differential I found that the pressure plate cap (part BF 1 in the manual) was missing. I am struggling to find a replacement part, so thought I would ask if any of you experts have one you would be prepared to sell me? Alternatively, does this part appear in any future models which might be easier to get hold of? Many thanks

  6. Good advice! Wish I'd spoken to you before!! Still, I could always get the Mtroniks ESC and move the TBLE-02 to my repro Boomerang when I upgrade that to brushless. Itching to see how good that might be!!
  7. Thanks Wez-li. Interesting to see you have positioned the receiver in the same space as the original MSC. Is it an Acoms receiver or something else? How have you anchored it to the chassis?
  8. I tried that but there isn't much room and the drive shaft gets in the way. It would have been an ideal spot!
  9. Definitely a coincidence as I've not seen this before, except he has put the ESC at the front and left the old speed controller in situ. I may try anchoring the receiver down with tie grips like he has done with his ESC. Not sure why he has left the old speed controller in there as you are left with lots of wires!! I've just taken the car outside for a test run (without shell which is being painted) and works a treat. The new ESC took a bit of setting up but got there in the end - the 'set' button is very fiddly!! I'm sure some purists are reading this wondering why on earth I am doing this to a vintage car, but I'm not interested in shelf queens and just enjoy seeing these cars in action.
  10. I still have some tidying up to do with the wires but that's a job for the weekend!
  11. Here are some pictures to give you an idea where I have located the ESC and the receiver:
  12. Incidentally, I had a play around last night and have put the new ESC in the place where the receiver normally sits and moved the receiver to the front of the car, just in front of the suspension mounts. There's room for it there but need to think of a better way to secure the unit!
  13. I did quite a bit of research and this Tamiya ESC was recommended. I'm no expert, so you have me worried now that this might damage the motor. Will it?
  14. Hi After a few months 'off' from tinkering with my cars I want to upgrade the standard speed controller in my Celica GpB to an ESC. I have purchased a Tamiya TBLE-02 which apparently is just the ticket for the Technigold RX540VZ. Before I begin dismantling the original speed controller I wanted to seek advice from the experts out there about positioning the new ESC. There doesn't seem to be much room within the chassis, so I was wondering if anyone had a solution? Thanks
