  1. I am open to serious offers, make one and we will see. Sale pending with "Fred".
  2. Here is your chance to own one of Tamiya's greatest models of all time. This car is fully working with an old AM 27MHz JR four channel radio and two 6 V 4 000 mAh batteries. It runs great and is in very good condition considering its age. The car is complete with manual (both English and a Swedish one translated by Berico, the Swedish distributor at the time), box (with all the inserts and parts bags tags), various leaflets featuring Tamiya products, RC spare parts, papers on connecting two battery packs, some spare parts, and an unpainted Blazer driver's head (neck has been broken off). Body: A new paint job has just been done by one of Sweden's top painters (a co-worker at the largest modelling magazine here in the Nordic countries). He painted the body and based an article about restoring and painting ABS bodies around the project. Wind shield has a crack. Radio box: There are no cracks in the radio box. One lug is broken off of the lid, which is otherwise perfect. Tires and motor cover are OK. No funny smell. There are some minor cracks if you squeeze the tires very hard, but not what others call dry rot or perished. All rubber parts are still soft. Metal parts: All good; there are no cracks, rust or oxidation. Several new u-joints have been installed. Rear bumper shows normal signs of use as does the skid plate that holds the speed controller and gearbox. Mechanics and electronics: Everything is perfect. Original radio and servos work. Drive train is perfect. First gears engages 4WD, second and third only drive the rear wheels. Front wheel hubs both lock and release, as they should. The servo controlled ESC, all three gears, steering work, as they should. Suspension is very stiff, but works, which is normal for these models. Even the optional light bulbs (not LEDs) in the headlights work. When I tested the car before writing this I did so with the cleaner of the two 6 V batteries. Both batteries work but the more worn one may need cycling before it holds a proper charge as it has not been used for a very long time. I did cycle the cleaner one and after a two cycles it took 3 800 mA from the charger at 1A. The good: Several new u-joints Great paint job Great overall condition Fully working 100 % complete, including the optional shocks Additional driver figure holding a map of southern California is also included Imperfections: There is a crack in the windshield One lug, the left one, is broken off the radio box lid The rear Toyota badge is not painted (it is primed in red) Please see the link for more pictures and a link to the showroom entry for the box: More of the car: http://rsb.se/galler...images.php?c=54 old photos: More of the box: http://www.tamiyaclu...l.asp?cid=58715 Price: Asking price is €€900/£800 shipped within the EU/USD 1.200 including worldwide shipping. PayPal Payment/bank transfer (within the EU). Open to serious offers, but no trades. Kindly observe the following if you wish to make an offer: Postage is included in my prices above. Postage depends on country but varies between € 50-130 depending on destination. The car is heavy and the box is huge. It all adds up to one giant box weighting in at about 12 kg/25 Ib. Some examples with insured airfreight: Most EU countries: EUR 50 Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan and the US: USD 200 If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. If you want to confirm my identity, we can contact each other via eBay (350+ feedback, 100 % positive). Payment via PayPal or bank transfer (for EU buyers). Thanks for your time! Andreas in Sweden
  3. A stock Futaba S3003 would do if you have no racing aspirations. Top racers (and rank hobbyists like me) use servos like Sanwa SDX-801, Futaba BLS 551 and other digital low profile servos from top manufacturers such as Hitec and Team Orion. The general recommendation is to buy the quickest servo you can afford. The top ones are about USD 100 off eBay, so it may pay off to get one of those straight away.
  4. I shake the box - and it's done! Seriously, it does not take that much time to asseble a Tamiya kit, TRFs included. What does take time however is finishing the body. The only models that do take a lot of time to build are the semi tractor truck and tank series.

I am neither desperate nor ignorant of its value, so please serious offers only. I may consider splitting the car from the box. Make me an offer if you are only interested in only the car or the box. If so, the transmitter and batteries go with the car but the manual and paperwork go with the box. Please also observe that postage for the box alone is almost as expensive as for box+car. I would prefer e-mail (use the forum link near my user name at the top left of this post). If you want to confirm my identity, we can contact each other via eBay (335+ feedback, 100 % positive). Payment via PayPal or bank transfer (for EU buyers). I am not interested in trades, but if you do happen to have a Globe Liner or a King Hauler (with MFU) I may consider that+cash. Thanks for your time! Andreas in Sweden Here is the link to the TC trade page: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp...=31102011103419
  6. The Novak GTB nolimit speedos are claimed to be water protected. Not sure what that means exactly, but I have mistreated mine quite badly in that respect and never had any problems at all. My LRP SXX TC however, is in comparison like an old hypochondriac - if it even can smell dampness it will start acting up. Unlike my brushed Mtroniks ESCs I have never put my GTB under water, but has sure received its fair share of puddles.
  7. Did you change motor pinion too? LiPo cells should not be warmer than 40 degrees Celcius. Above 45 and they will quickly loose capacity, which they cannot recover from. I suggest you get some IP (Intellect) off eBay. I use the 5 200/45C saddle packs in mine (as they also fit my TRF511). They are a snug fit, taller would not fit below the rear shock tower. I do have a couple of older GP stickpacks, but I see no point in buying such "low spec" batteries today (albeit 4 300/35C is still fine for 2WD).
  8. While the manual recommends against prolonged continuous use (which today's huge capacity batteries can be compared to considering the batteries available back in 2003 when the MFU was launched) you need not worry. The MFU does have circuits that protect it against overheating.
  9. Actually, a modern take on the Solar Eagle would make some sense in "rainy Europe". I have the original Solar Eagle, which feature solar panels from the early 90s. Mine has only been tested a couple of times, but it works up here in the North. So why would not a remake with modern panels work even better? I, for one, would be interested.
  10. The car has now been sold! Here is your chance to get a complete Holiday Buggy. The car comes with the original box. Everything still works, including the radio. For more info as well as more and larger pictures, please see the following link: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp?cid=102223
  11. Why not get a Tamiya TEU-302BK? It has a BEC, which the TEU-101BK does not. I would recommend getting the MFU or an ESC that can work with a sound unit, such as Servonaut M20+, which also has an onboard light system. When you build an RC tractor truck it is worth going all the way. Adding lights and sound do so much for the scale realism that these models offer.
  12. I would say it is the 56006 DMD-version från 1998, albeit it could be an older one as well. The DMD-version has två 380-motors (hence DMD, Dual Motor Drive) and a DMD-ESC.
  13. My complete Hilux seeks a new home. It comes with its body restored to former glory by one of Sweden's most experienced modellers. He used my Hilux body to write an article about restoring old models in one of the largest hobby magazines in the Nordic countries. It comes with the box, that still has all the inserts, parts bags, manual and all other paperwork. A brand new rubber motor cover is included but it is not in any of the photos. Please note that the body is red - not brown! The restored body: Please see my showroom entry for the car and for the box for more info: Trade pages advert: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp...563&id=4492 The car in smy howroom: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...00&sid=4492 The box in my showroom: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=58715 I am not looking for trades, just to sell the car. Thanks for your time!
  14. I have two parts trees for the Audi quattro and some parts for sale here: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp...564&id=4492 Among the other parts is a new chassis for Wild Willy. Thanks for your time!
  15. Now that is the first time in many years that Kyosho have a video on their web site featuring RC-cars that actually look great! Oh, wait, they are Tamiyas - that explains it...
