    I have everything in focus...
  1. I am rusty at this. What I know is that I have had does A-arms in a lot once. And a similar part to that bathtub cover in picture tree. My guess is that it is some Kyosho and traxxasin here. I was looking at the Kyosho monstertrucks- like the double dare and big brute, but I did not find a mach.
  2. 3 Thumps up- goes in to my book of favorite quotes! Says so much more to me than just referring to the rally circuit. Is not nature just genius! It evolved from bacteria and into unbelievable diversity. Why must we always control every thing so much!!! Creativity without freedom, within borders and ewen more borders are just so sad. Right now I am thinking about two things. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Screamadelica. And I am not at all thinking of that dead end road some of you might think of when those things are mentioned together. “This is a beautiful day… It is a new day… We are together, we are unified… and all in accord… Because together we got power… ” “Today on this program you will hear gospel, and rhythm and blues, and jazz. All those are just labels. We know that music is music” From come together. BUt originally it is from a speech held by Jesse Jackson’s at the 1972 Wattstax Music Festival in Watts, Los Angeles. And this: "We want to be free! We want to be free to do what we want to do! We want to be free to ride. And we want to be free to ride our machines without being hassled by The Man. And we want to get loaded. And we want to have a good time! And that’s what we’re gonna do. We’re gonna have a good time. We’re gonna have a party!” This is both from the song loaded from same album but originally it is from the 1966 film "The Wild Angels." Primal scream took out the part about riding machines. I would like to take out the part about getting loaded. I am also thinking about the movie "Vanishing Point." At last- a few quotes from the man who should have been Governor of Fat City and then gone on to be President. (And not so loaded and sadly destructive.) Directly to cars and drivers of Rally group B- "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die." "There was madness in any direction, at any hour. You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning." Cheers for- The best time for most things is right at the beginning when regulations are lax and variety is king.
  3. I was just watching some motors TV and I came across a program named RC Racing. I did some googeling and I found this. Quite entertaining if you are in to racing. http://www.rcracingtv.net/ I was watching the same channel an came across the WRC show, I think it was Portugal. I must say, what a boring, boring sport this has become.... First of all the TV coverage has always been bad, and Loeb is winning everything. There is all focus and Xsara, and one mini- that brought me a little smile. But, non of this is the real problem. The real problem is that the cars are so civilized. They are fast and high tech, but they look like ordinary cars and sound, well a little boring. I sound like a very negative person right now, I am not, it is just that I have a feeling that we are being robbed of something much much better than WRC 2012. Watch this: http://clip.dj/too-fast-to-race-group-b-do...4#v/pfsRtRlxOws The second one from the top is complete version in HQ- hope it works.
  4. I did not critizise you for having that opinion. I could be, absolutely. I just tried to tell the treadstarter to not even think about the increasing of value as a argument for either this or that! Invest in fertile land, seed companies, weapon or medicine industry if you are in to financial growth. Even thoe there not exactly toys, it is not the last thing I will lay behind when the **** hits the Air Conditioning system. And even so if that never happen and we had constant growth in the modelcar market. Buy them not as a future investment. Buy them because you LOVE to look at them, fumble with them, upgrade them, restore them, wash them, pose with them, brag about them, discuss them, go alternative routs with them and drive them. Cheers
  5. There is only one answer to this. They are toy cars (but toy's there not). You can not go wrong either way. Just stop thinking about value in 5 years, price for parts etc. (It is because I read this comment I comment- it is a major gamble to try to say somthing about a re-re frog's value in 5 years!) Go with your feelings! Back in the days when I was a addict, (I still am but I have taken some responsebilety for my recovery) i would have gone fore the superhornet, mostly because it is more rare than a re re frog. And it will become more rare, because most people does not bother to collect them. They are a litle like the Sonic Fighter, you have to be a litle hardcore to even know what they are. (Maybe I am wrong about the superhornet) May I also say that in the beginning of my activ addiction I was collecting everything as a haunted man. So my god tip for you is to take it easy, take a breath, think about it. The guys that quitting the hobby or dramatically slims down there collection will come along. Good buys are out there right now. I had a long rest away from here and when I came back I found that the hornet was back in its prime! The Hornet has been re-re'd and even before that it was not very difficult to find. I am not "with it" any more. Save your money and get a Bruiser. It is fantastic and even better for the price of that you could fill 20 kubic meters of space with old weard out stuff, and then you have a seriously addiction problem bro. When you are living in 1/3 of your apartment because the rest is, well not excatly toy cars, but many girls would think that. Mothers with children will think they are as necessarily as nuclear waste. It is so easy to loose controll over this powerfull hoby. - Do one project at the time. - Document it good. Decide if you shold keep it or sell it right away. - If you keep it, put it somewhere dust free. Be clever and know where you put it all. (I have so many ours the last years of moving and rearanging my collection.) I am starting to feel that I am repeating myself: When you have a look at TC members showrooms you know it could always be whorse- there is always atleast two sides of a thing. And a 20 kubic meter collections has even more sides to it. Try to sea the whole picture. Make a list over everything you wold like to do. If restoring a superhornet is somewhere in the top 5, Do It! Cheers Ps. This post is refering to: I have an RC addiction problem that I am seeking member views on. More than the choose between two cars.
  6. Thank you guys- here was alot to go from! I will talk to him and have a nearer look at exactly what he can use. Maybe he can kontrol a small QD transmitter with one hand? I will start there. I will update you. Cheers:-)
  7. I have a friend and coleege who has a kid with CP. He is a great kid and he handels his stickdriven wheelschair skillfully. I was thinking that I shold give him a basher, but he can not use bouth hands... Does it excist anything like a one stick transmitter? What about rebuilding a stick transmitter. I have some extra transmitters from cheap helicopters where the stick moves bouth ways. I can probably wire this up to some AM gear? Cheers
  8. Thank you guys. I had a mail from a moderator who said I can not ask for repro parts. I did not know that. What about non tamiya Hop-Up parts? This is absolutly a hop-up item don't you think? Regards Anders
  9. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to buy Alu R parts for this chassis any more? I am plannig to run this car this summer? Thank you :-) Anders
  10. Real tread stopper that one. Shows that everything is posible in modelling if you have the skills! Thanks for sharing!
  11. TA- Mark. That is some cool information! I wonder is the Pajero the only one? I went again to wyomings showroom since it came up again. Loots of very nice stuff. I went to he's favorites and guess what I found!!! Roy's Deuce and a half. That picture was very scale realistic Sayer. it was somthing with the tales or wheels or grass, but if I had not expectet it to be RC I would have belived it to be real. bromvw... You have my sympaties.
  12. Where is that Hilux from Wandy? Here is another stunning scale build in stunning scale enviroment. A few things done by kyosho is pretty scale as well. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...09&sid=1015
  13. That is one very nice Hilux Wandy! Love the pic's as well. I think boat the bushwackers and the ordinary paintjob suits it very good. Going into your showromm to take a nearer look. Looks like that robocop guy has put in alot of ours on the lathe- I don't understand this I must say. If I had equipment and skills like that I sure would have built somthing for driving :-)
  14. The two last post is in the absolute amazing end of the scale!!! I have seen that car before, I wonder if he ever started another project. I have always wonderd why he did not care to figure out how he could radiocontroll all of it? Maybe he's is afraid it would not hold? Nice Unimog Skottoman, lots of details and looks fun to drive to. This was my thing to. XC size veicles. Does anybody know how scale the Pajero, CRV, Wrangler are? He he, funny drifting vid there. Have tought about doing somthing simular myself. He has a wrist fracture and it is not my type of styling :-) Wyoming has many nice models!!! There are and were some very talentet modelers at TC. I had this in my favorites. Absolutly lovly scale tamiya action. Hope you don't mind Cul-tech? http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...06&sid=2707
  15. I don't have much to bring to the table. This Hummer is built by my friend Roy, former TC member 4-stroker, who also has built alot of other intersting scale builds. Him, me and Andreas (can't remeber he's former TC nick) started back in 2005 to drive RC cars where we looked for scale details and preformance. Back then I remeber we had a page cald TruckTrailTamiya. We had lots of fun. At that time in Norway, nobody els was doing this. Someone was doing rockcrawling but that was also very rare. When things got serious and this was made into a class, all of us where already going on with alot of other stuff- but Roy is still building trucks, both big and small. And I am a fan, and getting help with my 4x4 cars. I remeber seeing once a scratch built RC with a real stick shiftet gearbox and moving pedals and so on? I remeber someone at TC made the most wonderfull boat and boat trailer for a Honda CRV XC. The Kyosho Go Kart, is that a good example of pretty good scale accurasy out of the box? Can we make this tread full of pictures staring quality built scale RC? I would have loved that! I can probably find some better shots from the "old" days later. Also scale scenari is nice. Has TC ever had such a contest?
