Danbox 1 Posted April 6, 2009 That 1/10 (I think) body looks an awful lot like the HPI bug body that was discontinued....... ....Not that I'm complaining!
TWINSET 1793 Posted April 6, 2009 That 1/10 (I think) body looks an awful lot like the HPI bug body that was discontinued....... Would that be because they're both based on the Volkswagen Beetle, by any chance?
Danbox 1 Posted April 7, 2009 Would that be because they're both based on the Volkswagen Beetle, by any chance? I suppose it might....... One of these might look good on my Stampede.
TWINSET 1793 Posted April 8, 2009 One of these might look good on my Stampede. Check the measurements first - the 2.2 shell will be pretty small in comparison to 'normal' 1/10 scale shells in order for it to be considered viable for competition crawling For instance, Tower quote the wheelbase of the Stampede VXL as 10.827" but the 2.2 beetle shell WB is only 9.6" Proline also make 2 bigger versions of the Beetle, although the front end is quite different; http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=48636
Danbox 1 Posted April 8, 2009 Yeah, I think I saw an entry on this site recently of a Maxx-size (I think) beetle shell on a Stampede........ http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...092&id=8641 Not sure what to do...........
Mr. ED 5 Posted April 9, 2009 Yeah, I think I saw an entry on this site recently of a Maxx-size (I think) beetle shell on a Stampede........ http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...092&id=8641 Not sure what to do........... if you look at the pics again you see how the body sits more between the tires than over them ; a style that only works for bug bodies
