  1. Hello, looking for a New Bright State Police car. Please let me know if you have one you may want to part with. Cheers! PICTURE IS PROPERTY OF USER "SCHNOOBS"
  2. This is an OUTRAGE..., someone must have one for sale......PLEASE ANYONE!
  3. I have been patiently waiting on Ebay and nothing for months! Where did they all go???? I guess they were never that popular.....can somone shed some light on this??
  4. Can't afford the real thing, so I am mounting a Monster Beetle body onto a Frog chassis. I have seen members mounting it on a Grasshopper body, but need ideas for a Frog chassis. Thanks!
  5. Too me they both handle the same really. Red civic was very very fast! I had to JB weld the cups into the diff, if not they would strip. I stripped one set before realizing this. After that, no problem at all from the Mamba Max. I also has this problem with the Mantis as the pipe and 2 speed tranny was too fast for the stock diff. Stripped it to heck. Luckly I found a ball diff for the Mantis. Jason's Store had one on Ebay. The only one I have ever seen. I purchased it in a heartbeat. No problems since. I no longer run the Mantis as it is a shelf queen know. Too rare to race. I just take it with with to shows and rc events. I own 2 EG civics. One 92 VX, with LS Vtec. Easier to use the VX as they already have the Vtec wiring in the harness unlike the DX. And one 92 EG SI with a B18C1 engine. Being there all motor, I use SI-R trannys in both due to the short gears they have. I live in San Diego, so I had to pay a pretty penny to the smog ref. to assign the engines to the cars legally. I went the legal way as I did not want any trouble from the DMV. Not sure how these guys with these built cars smog them in California. I guess it is not my business.
  6. Have some wheels spin but once the tires lock up it slingshots out the hole, like the real deal. I also applied "tire sauce" to help with this. I run all my civics without the front end.......makes it look more tough in my opinion. Easier to start as well. Here is my old FF01, Mamba Max set up. Thing was killer! Sold it on Ebay so I could purchase the Mantis.
  7. Reason for the front mount engine was to help keep the front wheels on the ground(engine weight) and the motor turns towards the front of the car to add downward force as well. I must say, Kyosho really did there R & D.
  8. Well I installed a 18t pinion and although I am able to tighten the 2 screw mounts there is binding as if the 18t has too many teeth, I do not have a 17t pinion to try... Are the blackfoot tranny gears not the same as a frog? I thought the only difference in the two was the pinions, also 18t is stock for a Frog right?
  9. For real scale look. Get the only FWD Nitro ever produced. Throw a Tamiya Civic body on it and there set! Disc brake, 2 speed tranny, pipe and turbo wont hurt either...
  10. I put brat wheels and tires on my blackfoot chassis and also lowered the chassis a bit as it sat too high. I am still running the blackfoot pinion and motor spacer. My questions is if I go to a frog pinion now will I gain speed and loose torque? I assume yes, but make to make sure. Thanks all!
  11. Thanks all! I guess it would better to start with a TA01 so I do not need to buy more parts....
  12. Going for the vintage look: Can I put 4 Frog hubs on a TAO2 chassis versus the hex hubs and run 4 REAR brat rims and tires? Looking to get a Tamiya F150 4wd roller, put a blackfoot body on it along with the REAR brat wheels and tires. Vintage look with 4wd.
  13. So I have been working on the project for awhile. Just recieved the scale turbo. Since the Mantis is now a shelf-queen I decided to slap on a scale turbo set-up on it for show and looks.
  14. I wanted to purchase OEM Blackfoot tires , but it seems all the ones have a little bit of hardening because of the age. Even if you find a mint pair. The difference with the LB tires is night and day. Better traction and controll, due to the fact the rubber is soft. Ground clearance is a little lower, but you cant have your cake and eat it too...
  15. Well I put a small bearing behind the wheel and now the clearance looks great. Did a run no rubbing. Wheel nuts have good nylon so they did not fall off. Thanks guys again for all the help and suggestions.
