Anybody paint a Metallic midnight pumpkin?
Burmanater replied to whale22's topic in General discussions
Ive got a MP that the previous owner painted a candy blue over the chrome finish and I gotta say it looks great and very unique. -

Clod options
Burmanater replied to neverfollow's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Hey backtomyroots I love the way your clod looks. Just wondering where I could find myself a set of those Tamiya gold shocks?oil? I prefer the look of those shocks over the full length spring types. They don't look quite as real. -
What have you guys done with you're TT02s? I'm saving up right now and thinking about the complete yeah racing aluminum conversion kit. Doesn't seem to be a lot of tt02 action out there? Why is that? I have the capri body done up as more of a street car than the race car.

My thing is I don't want a newer truggy body and I don't want a truck body style new than the 80s. I'm also leaning towards 1970s and older car bodies. Lexan and replaceable is preferred as I'm prolly not going to be very nice to it. I just don't want to crack up my original clod body anymore. I would even consider hard plastic bodies from other brands as long as the proportions were right. I even debated a blackfoot body but those are kinda pricey for what I want to do with it.

I will say that with the imex jumbo dawg tires and rims my blackfoot was very fun. It looks great also. Be pre warned though, you will need a very high strength steering servo as these tires even with just plastic rims are very much like clodbuster wheels/tires. You can't really turn unless it's moving. You will love the look though. I'm not sure on tire size besides jumbo dawgs. But you may be able to use the slightly bigger wider clodbuster tires also.

So I recently got a old 1986 clod and the steering servo is week. Already had to replace the main chassis, links, motors, and soon the steering linkages. The servo is next on the list. Upgraded to the 2.4ghz radio setup. What I'm looking for is a servo that wont kill me cost wise but is at least strong enough to the move the tires at a stand still and return to a neutral centered position while still allowing me to have rear steer? Currently it dog tracks something fierce and no amount of adjustment makes it better. Thanks for any input.

Where can I get ahold of one of these beetle bodies and will it fit a tt02? I really love your build and would love to have a VW beetle with the fuchs from the 911 tt02 kit.

I personally run MSCs because I like how you can get that reverse to forward snap that just seems to not be there in an ESC. That being said I would only run them in LB/MP or any of the Frog chassis kits where wheelies are a must.
-
Oddly enough even though I currently own a Lunchbox and Pumpkin. I find something about the pumpkin to just be not quite right proportion wise with the chassis? But it fits the lunchbox just right. I never will want a wild willy or any of the short wheelbase wheelie types. I think the LB/MP chassis has enough wheelie in it. Those wantanabe? grasshoppers scare me. Cows? purple? good parts to convert a LB to a purple chassis but that's about it. Love the clod but hate the bullhead due to it's odd body proportions with the chassis. I only like the original body styled Blackfoots. Can't get into any of the buggies besides the frog or hornet. I don't like the buggies that get too spaceship looking. But since I'm newish to the hobby I can't comment on a lot of them.

Well from what I've seen with my 18turn brushed motor. You could have very well worn the plastic teeth on both the gear that contacts the motor gear and the larger ring/spider gear in the center. I recently stripped mine. I couldn't imagine what a brushless would do. What's this aluminum gear you speak of pizzachaude? Might be a worthy upgrade over the factory plastic in the LB/MP.

I did check the white resistor and it was warm but not hot. It wasn't anything I had to pull my finger away from. Thanks for the tips guys.
