Display?!? Those are all brilliant runners. Put them in a cabinet and they'll cry themselves to sleep.

I'm displaying;

Bullhead

3x Monster Hornets (black met, jun, stock black)

Wild Willy 2

LB

Wife's Kumamon tractor ;)

Bruiser

TA03F Pro currently with Brat shell

Honda City Turbo Senna

And yet to be built

Avante Black

Mountain Rider

If a BigWig or Hotshot II gets re re'd I'll be in trouble as that'll be the cabinet maxed out.

My soon to be displayed are new built mint Mazda 787B, Porsche 911 GT1 (on a fully hopped up TA03R-S chassis) and a TRF416X with a Kyosho 1997 Renault Laguna BTCC Body. :)

All being prepped with some Auto Finesse Detailer Spray for an ultra glossy finish :)

All our RCs are runners, and all are on display when not being run, thanks to having a guest bedroom with plenty of shelf space. However if I had to pack most of them out of sight and could only display 5 at a time, I would start with the following:

CC-01 Pajero, because of its realistic looks, scale details etc, plus it seems to get the most positive comments when non-hobbyists look at my fleet, so if visitors see it, they might want to take up the hobby.

o7q1_zpszxqp8poo.jpeg

Hotshot, because of its place in Tamiya history, its place in my personal history with Tamiya (it was the first Tamiya I had ever seen), its interesting and unusual suspension, and its overall looks.

vqc2_zpsr7lsofkl.jpeg

DF-01 Manta Ray, because of my history with the model (it was my first hobby-grade off-roader) and because I have wanted to build one to this level of hopped-uppedness since the '90s. Plus it looks nice! :)

DSC03764_zpsyy7kusdc.jpg

M-06 Renault Alpine, as I think this is one of the most attractive shells Tamiya has produced, I have wanted one for quite a while, and I think my efforts at decalling this particular example turned out rather well.

IMG_20140929_161310_zpszm5wrvcu.jpg

TT-01 Petronas Mercedes SLS, because it is the newest shell in my fleet, and it would be a pity to pack it away out of sight without having had some time to appreciate it. Plus I think it is an attractive car with an interesting shape.

I would of course want to change the display every so often, as all of the cars in my fleet are special to me, and all deserve to be appreciated.

For me it would have to start with my first ever tamiya .... A frog, followed by

Hotshot

Hotshot 2

Porsche 959

Bruiser.

To be quite honest for me five is no where near enough, i don't have a huge list of loves

I've some people but certainly have around 15 cars I'd love to have on display.

Clod Buster, Toyota Bruiser, Fast Attack Vehicle, Sand Scorcher VW, and Jeep Wrangler. Oh, and if one Kyosho allowed I'll include the Honda 250R ATC ;)

I've been restoring a SWB M38 which will eventually replace the blue, white & bling WW2.

So many great choices above I could easily like them all!

For me my choices would be-

Red Hilux http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=120453&id=40536

Scorcher http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=118328&id=40536

M38 Wild Willy http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=124746&id=40536

Blazing Blazer http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=121466&id=40536

Ford Ranger http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=126124&id=40536

All vintage ones from my collection and that are a bit too nice to risk running.

The problem with my cars is that none of them are finished to a sufficiently-high standard to be considerable for display. My taste in shelfers has changed a bit as a result - a little bit of dirt is now included ;) Nothing too filthy; just enough dirt to rekindle the memories...

As such, I nominate:

1. Tamiya Lancia Rally

vynzgi.jpg

2. Tamiya Willy's Wheelie Rally

3. Tamiya Astute

4. Tamiya Loctite Zexel GT-R

5. Tamiya Toyota GT-One

I currently have these on display in a wall unit in my dining room..

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=64633&id=4672

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=32611&id=4672

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=42489&id=4672

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=42488&id=4672

I have this one as well, but only have 4 spaces in the display cabinet..http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=64622&id=4672

However, I do have a few Tamiya cars that I would really like to get into a glass display cabinet.. (some of them are still waiting to be restored.)

Wild Willy 1 (s)

Rough Rider

F150 Ranger

Super Champ (s)

Hilux 4x4

OH, and then I have my TRF on-road chassis.
TRF 414M
TRF 414M World Championship Replica x2

TRF TA03R

TRF 415

TRF EVO-2

TRF EVO-3

And then there is my.............

Did you say to pick 5 models for a display cabinet or pick models to fill 5 display cabinets? (I think that the latter would be easier for me .. LOL)

I think it's unfair to keep five cooped up on their own - you need a much bigger collection so you rotate them on a weekly basis, and give them all some excercise...

I am thinking of getting the figurine set for this, some gauze for cannon and stowage for the rear and making a small diorama for it to sit on so I can stick it in my lounge somewhere...

My missus has only allocated me enough room to display two in the living room, out of my collection I've picked my favourite 2wd and my favourite 4wd - The Fox and the Boomerang

My four monster trucks are on display using space I've 'acquired'in my lads bedroom and the other 12 buggies I have are all kinda displayed (7 feet up!) on top of our bedroom wardrobe

I dream of one day having a place with a spare box room which I can shelf out and have wall to wall Tamiyas through the decades displayed!

Vrdetailing - I like your man cave!

Last flat I lived in had a very similar roof space where I displayed all my collection. I'd regularly sit up there tinkering like a kid in a sweetshop!

Weirdly I found the models didn't collect any dust up in the unconverted loft whereas now I have some in the living room they need pretty regular dusting off
