MadInventor 3884 Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) Hi all, Up for sale is a 1950s model makers lathe, made by Grindturn Engineering LTD of Shrewsbury, England. I've used this for many model making items, mostly making 4 links, axles, bushes, drive shafts, track rods, etc. I'm looking for £175 for it, and whoever buys it will need to collect it from near Salisbury in Wiltshire, as it weighs the best part of 20kg (Well, I can pick it up, but I wouldn't want to carry it very far ). I could also potentially deliver to the Abergavenny area of South Wales. Here are some specs, and pictures: 370Watt Naerok single phase motor (I.e. it runs off the mains 240v), fitted with a pulley with 5 different sizes. The pulleys on the motor plus the lathes own gearbox give 30 different speed variations, from very slow to extremely fast. Headstock has capacity for bar stock up to 10mm in size. Fitted with a 3jaw chuck, stamped with 'The Burnerd' on it (I think this is an 80mm or imperial equivalent size). The tailstock has a MT1 taper, and the lathe comes with a small Rohm 3 jaw chuck fitted to a MT1 taper. The saddle has a Chinese caliper fitted to it to give a measured movement to a resolution of 0.01mm, or 0.0005inches. Comes with 3 cutting tools, and a couple of pieces of tool steel which can be used to make your own.
