Complete Newbie with a Subaru Impreza WRC 2004 1/10

Hopefully bought the right gear, Got the Hop UP TT-01 Bearing Set (rubber sealed) and Steel Pinion gear. Found a guy on Ebay selling all the different grease from Tamiya so bought a few different ones to be on the safe side. Also just spent over £40 on different paints for this model and my 2 new static ones. This is starting to get expensive already -

I've not even thought about that yet! I just thought i'd try it in my local park when it's done. Wow!! it certainly is a minefield, I've read all about the "Hop Up" parts available and these can cost quiet a bit. It's good to see that so much is still available after over 10 years (if only that were true of my real car lol). What a find this forum is!! I'm really grateful for all you help already and have just ordered about £200 worth of accessories, more models (not R/C yet) and tools. Now just need to find time for my new hobby on top of my others lol. Cheers Andy -

Thank you so much for the info. This has definitely opened my eyes. I've opted for this set up http://www.modelsport.co.uk/core-rc-code-2.4ghz-3-channel-fhss-lcd-stick-combo/rc-car-products/38217 as it's currently £10 cheaper on this site. Sorry to ask again but i'm still a bit stuck on what servo to go for as the price range is quite varied. I've been checking through the options on http://www.modelsport.co.uk/servos/rc-car-categories/9910/991020 but there are so many to choose. And once again the battery pack recommended is 7.2V with 6 cells (the RC2400SP may have been for illustration purposes only). Thanks once again you've both been extremely helpful already. -

Hi all, I'm a complete noob when it comes to these kits.. I used to build to many different static models from the 70's & 80's but these are a whole new ball game for me. I acquired my Car through a £5 raffle held at one of my last places of work (for those in the U.K. it's the shop that's advertised by Aliens at the moment and starts with an "A"). I had no idea of the value of the car at the time and stupidly thought it was like my R/C cars of old and worked straight from the box. It has been stored away unopened in the Loft since around 2005 and I've only come across it whilst having a clear out recently. I spent all day scouring websites trying to find the additional parts needed and as it's 10 years old this has been quite difficult. So I've come on here for some help and advice from the experts if you don't mind. The Car is a 1/10 Scale Subaru Impreza WRC 2004 (on the TT-01 Shaft Driven 4WD Chassis). It came with the TEU-101BK ESC. So I need to find a suitable Transmitter (the one in the instructions says "EXPEC TTU-02") (either stick or wheel) along with a Receiver (compatible ones are TAMIYA, KO, FUTABA, JR, SANWA but nothing is mentioned regarding model numbers etc.) and Servo (TSU-01) So far I cannot find a Receiver that matches the criteria and the only servo i've found is TSU-02 (would this work?). Am I able to use the Uprated Transmitters, Receivers and Servos available or do I have to use the ones in the instructions? Also can I use the more uprated higher capacity batteries rather than the 2400 recommended in the instructions. Sorry for all the questions but i'm eager to start building and get back into the groove so to speak. Thanks for taking the time to read this and any help or advice will be greatly appreciated Andy
