jeekelemental 528 Posted October 21, 2015 At this point I decided to consider my Brat as finished... ok it's not finished but it's like when a maul doesn't go forward or when the book you are reading lays a part for much times. My next project will involve my CR01:http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73542already modified but with some corrections needed.
jeekelemental 528 Posted October 21, 2015 For first I'm going to remove all the black paint from the chassis, modify it cutting the front horns and polish it till it shine.
jeekelemental 528 Posted October 22, 2015 A good start: thanks to a small amount of acetone and to an old toothbrush the big part of the black paint is gone.
jeekelemental 528 Posted October 29, 2015 Very slow progresses this week: a second and deeper paint removing from chassis plates and a raw tray for electronics and battery made out from plexiglass. File works to refine the two chassis plate and an aborted attempt to polish it. I will try to do it another time during next days and if it will go wrong I will repaint it in black. Also ordered some new parts to complete the build.
jeekelemental 528 Posted November 2, 2015 #800 sandpaper+water, #1000 sandpaper+water and polishing paste. Before and after
jeekelemental 528 Posted November 3, 2015 Some of the items needed to complete the build are arrived today, not much but is all I need to fix the rear shaft issue and to invent a way to screw the electronics/radio tray.
jeekelemental 528 Posted November 3, 2015 The way I've thought for building a solid fixing for the electronics/radio tray is shown below: a pair of the original brackets made to support the transmission have been screwed on its the top to give support to the tray. jeekelemental 528 Posted November 4, 2015 The tray previously made has been drilled and screwed in place using flat head screws and a pair of spacers.
jeekelemental 528 Posted November 4, 2015 After it has been slotted to allow the use of a velcro battery strap.
jeekelemental 528 Posted November 4, 2015 With the battery in place will be pretty easy to place the electronics to define the final shape of the new tray.
jeekelemental 528 Posted November 11, 2015 This evening the chassis plates have been polished for last time with the help of my Dremel. The plastic tray has been definitively shaped, slotted and drilled to make room for ESC switch and prepared to be painted in black.

jeekelemental 528 Posted November 17, 2015 Axles have been cleaned, switched to self-locking nuts where possible, back to original dampers but without springs and simplifyed the way to support them.

loco_oso 108 Posted November 18, 2015 Wow! Looks great! Very clean with the electronics . Did you do the radius edges on the tray with your Dremel as well?

jeekelemental 528 Posted November 19, 2015 Worked for the definitive set-up targeting good angle for the rear shaft and to reduce the torque twist. I've chosen a full droop for the front dampers and a relocation for the rear ones including inside springs.
