Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

picked up a Grand Hauler kit today (good deal and couldnt resist it),

I have a MFC01 and 4 channel Radio organised thru Stella..

The question is .. what other accessories should I be looking at? Alloy wheels..etc etc..

Thanks

That's a nice rig to have as your 1st !

Take a look at the option parts on the Tamiya website - 1/14 Truck Hop-Up parts all start with 565**

Then there are a lots of non-Tamiya parts available...

Depends what you are want to acheive and how much you want to spend.

I would definately get the matt finish axles & gearbox casing and the telescpoic antennae to start with - these are the lowest cost Hop-Ups I can think of.

The alloy coupler plate also looks good.

Personally I don't really like the spoked alloy wheels Tamiya now offer for the 1/14 trucks - I prefer the earlier style but they are hard to find now.

I think your kit comes with the driver figure ?

Recent new Hop-Ups are the upgraded diff parts & alloy servo mounts.

Look forward to seeing some pics.

Bearings first and foremost.

A slower motor, they do about 20kph in 3rd and it is unrealistic and can easily tip. About a 55t for around home but if you are running at conventions with other trucks those guys sometimes go up to an 80t with a smaller pinion.

Some styrene to make a false wall if you want to fit both the MFC and the interior, will take some modeling skills.

Change out the tamiya plugs for something more dependable, if the battery connection comes loose the MFC shuts down and you lose all throttle and steering, scary when your moving along and you have put countless hours into the paint/parts

2.4ghz radio gear. No need for antennas.

To me the above are a necessity. Enjoy your build and post some pics! :)
