Avante 2011 (58489) - I told you it was coming back!

Does anyone have an idea of pricing for the 2001 on original release? Compared to the rest of its family -
Avante 2011 (58489) - I told you it was coming back!

As someone who did drop the crazy dollars for a VQS, I am very , very happy with it, I have modded it a fair bit and it’s fantastic, but the price set by Tamiya didn’t do sales a favour. I would also jump at a 2001…… -
RIP Willy , I am another grateful member whom he helped, it is a shame that his family cannot see these messages .

I don’t own friction shocks anymore but from memory the friction shocks springs are harder so you would be more inclined to get nil droop. I try and stick to high caps but if you want droop use the internal shock plates with more holes to get softer cva shocks.

You want as much MAH batteries as possible for racing, unless it affects weight balance. You want as high as possible C rating for racing. It depends on what ESC you are using for lipo cutoff….

Top Force vs Manta ray vs Terra Scorcher
Snappy1 replied to davidwj95's topic in Re-Release Discussions
It’s a no brainer, Top Force. You can always put a Manta Ray shell on the Top Force, Top Force has front and rear ball diffs, hardened prop shaft, cv joints at all corners, lightened gear shafts etc etc etc -
More from me, I have a lot of Avante family cars, re re Egress, re re VQS, original Vanquish times 2, original Avante 2001 times 2 and an original Egress. They are some of my best runners. the re re VQS feels better than my re re Egress , but the amount of hop ups thrown at the VQS to get to that level far outweighs the performance benefits over a re re Egress. The VQS has Egress tyres, ball diffs and bumper, alloy rear G11 plate(adds a lot of rigidity)carbon front tower and mini hi caps . VQS is by far the most under rated re re , they were very expensive so not many people jumped on them ‘The VQS is lighter than my Egress, the Avante 2001 is lighter again. ‘All the Avante chassis cars I have are set up with triple ball diffs, so smooth and it removes the twitchyness of the chassis . The Avante Black edition is also still floating around, that would be the other car to consider .

Rumour has it the Avante. 2011 will be back very soon, Egress or Avante would be my choice , not the Super

aluminium / alloy rear knuckle for Tamiya Boomerang
Snappy1 replied to FC5687's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
They will fit but the Boomerang has toe in that the Hotshot does not. -
Your Technigold was an open can, adjustable timing ,and rebuildable, similar to the super stock motors. closed can motors will last longer on the brushes but that’s about the only advantage other than the price, A GT tuned will have similar performance to your technigold, I would suggest a super stock BZ if you want more punch you will be surprised how long a super stock will run on a set of brushes

LRP are European, German I think , they have been around for a long time and usually manufacture good quality products.

Vintage Top Force Evo. , left any other Tamiya I had ever driven in its dust……..

If I run silver cans it’s with a 3 cell lipo, I replace them when they let the magic smoke out, approx 20 hours is a guesstimate.
