  1. Ok well i have had a chance to really drive this thing around and its just great. There is just one draw back and that's when you give more then 25% throttle the right front wheel does not touch the ground. That is only when just tooling around on grass or tarmac. I more then likely be able to ajist up the rear suspension and stop it but i don't think i will just do to it just looking sweet when it does it. Here is my Photobucket name Matt_Watkins1 check out the pics and i will post a short clip later on today. Hey if you guys could give me any feedback that owuld be great thanks
  2. Hey brushless is just the way to go i have found out. The only thing that i have had that was a problem was that i was doing a little bit of crawling and its front wheel got hung up between two rocks and due to the diff being locked it snapped my CVD shaft but other then that its a must. Here is a link to the motor that i used. Lastly you do have to do a little bit of modding to the heat sink to get it to fit and also the geartrain cover. i will post the pics on my photobucket and add a link later today. Let me know if you need any more info or if you have any ideas or such thanks http://www.ebay.com/itm/540-Sensorless-Brushless-Motor-4300KV-60A-ESC-for-1-10-RC-Model-Car-Vehicle-/191618058244?hash=item2c9d538804
  3. Hey i just added a brushless motor to my cc01 and i am so far really happy. I did have to dial the power of the motor down to around 70-75% . And i also added a little expo. Any one else go brushless and is there anything that i need to know before i trail test it ? Thanks
  4. Hi i would like to know what changing your pinion gear tooth number does? I know that it changes you end ratio but in what way? What happens if you use a smaller one ? What happens if you use a larger one ? Thanks a bunch
  5. Hi i have a TT02 that i bought with the Alfa Romeo 155 body. I bought a Porsche RSR body and the kit that i have did not come with the proper cup joints for the rear. I was looking at the set that Horizon Hobby sells TAM54502 is the part number. Are they what i need to widen the rear up for the Porsche ? Lastly do i need to get a set of wide wheels and tires for the back? What i am asking more then likely sounds stupid but i don't want to buy the wrong stuff or not buy what i need. It never hurts to ask right thanks so much
  6. Hi, Yeah i just ordered the C parts bag that has all of the gears and stuff for 13.00 and 5.00 shipping US. Any ideas on what caused this and what steps to take to stop it for doing it again? Thanks
  7. Hey i forgot to say that it started with the rear diff locked and then i took the locker out . I wanted to see if it would make any difference and it did not . so i relocked it and double checked that everything was moving free and it still grinds. Now if you look at the input gear and the diff gear and the gears show wear at the tips they look like they are starting to bend over. if that makes sence. Let me know if i can do anything about it or just order new ones that i dont have the money for. thanks
  8. Hey i have a CC01 Bronco and the rear input gear and the main diff gear are grinding. I took it apart and you can see where there is minor wear on the two but they appear to mesh well. The grinding is real bad under load the small bevel gears inside of the main gear and the bevels are good any ideas of a fix thanks
  9. Hi thanks for the input !! I think that if this car had some sway bars it would barely torque steer at all. The only thing that is making me say that is my 1/16 Turnigy Rally Extreme. That little thing i am pumping a 3c lipo and a 45a ESC that little thing is stupid fast but you can go what and it will stay arrow straight. If you look at the way that the Tamiya is built and the Turnigy the Tamiya is just a better built car off the bat. I really think that would stop it.
  10. Hey thanks for all of the advice. I also forgot to add that i am using the high speed gear kit on it. I had the goal of adding that to gear down the low end and give me more high end then any track that i use to ever need. Now what i would like to more about it the chassis and why it is allowing this to happen. Has anyone ever done any type of mods to the chassis itself to improve on it? Thanks and i am cyrus to hear what you have heard. Hey XV Pilot i have asked for help alot and you have been very helpful thanks and is there a friends list or a way if i have any ideas i can ask you directly? I am doing some RD work on some parts i am 3d printing for the CC01 and your help would really be great let me know thanks
  11. HI i have the Jager Alfa 155 and i am having some set up problems and everything i try just does take care of it. When i do make changes it will fix what i am trying to fix but then create something new that i need to fix and it just is a never ending cycle and i dont know why. Here is my main issue first off when i go what it will pull vary hard in one direction but just rolling or under light load goes straight. My second issue is its under steer while giving throttle when i let off it seems to grab better. No matter what changes i make it just goes back and forth. Now here is what i have on the car , Alum lower front arms alum hubs, alum ajust upper arms, alum shocks with 200ct oil , ajust steering links , lastly a high quality MG servo. the power train is a brushless 4100kv motor and a 3c lipo. i dont run the motor and 100% power only around 75%. any help would be great and thank you for taking the time to read this
  12. He well i use to only run HPI. Biut i just really like tamiya its more of a hobby guys car i love the endless tunabilty
  13. Hi yeah that was what i was thinking its just something that i have never heard of. I hope that i will never see it happen another time. other then that i am very glad that i have made the switch over to tamiya not just the CC01 but my TT02 as well i really like everything about them. I think i will be a lifer with Tamiya
  14. Hi i have done a small mod to my cc01's front suspension. I have a set if adjustable front upper a arms. when i bought them and installed them they were a waste of money. Now on here i found a mod to add more movement to the front suspension and steering it was a good mod but only gave me a very small amount of lift. I also have the GMP steering kit on it as well. Now what i have done is i had a scrap piece of steel brake line laying around so i cut it into 5 1/4" pieces. Then where you mount the front lower a arms with the 5 screws i took that off and got some new screws same size around but 1/8" longer and placed the 5 pieces of brake line between the chassis and the mounting plate. Now i know that the 1/4" does not seem like much but i swear i got 1" lift at the wheels all that was left to do was to ajust the upper a arms out. I will post some build pic's as soon as i size them down to upload but its a cheap and i have not found any down side of having them so give it a try if you have a chance. Oh last little tip cut them with a brake line cutter not a dremel its much cleaner !!!
  15. yeah i opened up that receiver and its toast one of the chips is burnt up i am wondering if that was what fried the servo i wish i knew what went first due to having that same servo in my TT02
