markbt73 5290 Posted July 1, 2015 Wanted to do this for a while, and I've finally gotten around to it. I love how the Mid runs, but I've never been much of a fan of the body, or of how it fits (or rather, doesn't). So when I found this Parma Vauxhall Astra body on eBay for cheap, I knew what I had to do. Modified some old JG body mounts, added Corally screw-type body posts, and trimmed it out: I found this image that I really liked, so I decided to use it as inspiration: Three parts Faskolor yellow, one part orange seems to have done the trick: And that's where it sits now. Still a few details to add, but not much; this is meant to be run. Action shots to follow, when it's not 95+F outside...
markbt73 5290 Posted July 2, 2015 I couldn't resist; I braved the heat and popped outside for a quick run... It looks fantastic in motion, but it's almost... dare I say it... boring to drive. It goes exactly where I point it, and nothing much seems to faze it. Which means only one thing... it needs MORE POWER.
Wez-li 1790 Posted July 2, 2015 That's brilliant. Exactly where we were 25 odd years ago before the touring car revolution. I do like the optima mid body though
markbt73 5290 Posted July 2, 2015 Yep, I built one back then too, out of a Manta Ray and a Parma Celica GT4 body.
