  1. How similiar to the Ford decal is the blackfoot in size? I am trying to recreate the decal sheet so I can bling the stand up for the chassis, but I am having probs cleaning up the ford decal copy I have.
  2. I put my stickers under the clear coat (Mostly), but that is because they are of poor quality and would rub off easily. it they were durable then probably on top instead.
  3. To be honest I think it looks quite nice! If you use some high grade paper 2500 or up with some water and a drop of washing up liquid then you may be able to get rid of the bumpy bits, be careful though, because if the bump is caused by the primer then you will just break through the paint, Use a dulled razor blade or something flat as a former for the paper when rubbing down as fingers will just make grooves if you aren't careful. As stated above, make sure if you clear coat it that you allow the base coat to "gas off" for long enough to avoid reactions.
  4. Spent an hour huffing and puffing after going to Taekwondo and turning out to be the only student that appeared! one hour of intensive scrutiny and help with improving techniques! not having to pay for a personal coach= bonus! lol then spent a couple of hours scraping chrome off of the front grille/bumper of the Ford Ranger resto, more to go yet! "Sigh"
  5. Moved on a bit now The safety cage is a bit low and obscures the drivers vision a bit, but I liked it.
  6. What a world we live in now, where we have to worry about such things!
  7. So, this is what I have decided to do with driver, I did start off with making a box, but came to the conclusion I was trying to make life too hard for myself, so i took it apart and did this instead. Building a little bit of the dash and plan to make the steering wheel become part of it. Also having a go at making a fire extinguisher W.I.P
  8. Thank you, but I always get annoyed with myself when I know that I could and should have done better I used plastic sprue left over from an Airfix model of a plane I had put together with my son, he is severely Autistic now aged 20 and likes simple models. I then used a fine pointed soldering iron to blend the two plastics together, applying poly cement straight after to strengthen the bond. If I had done this again I would have done it much more simply using the plastic sheets available from the hobby shops. When it had gone off, I used a heatgun to make sure that the roof was as straight as I could get it. Then I used plastic bumper filler available from Halfords to get a better shape while remaining fairly flexible. To get the finer holes filled I used the Humbrol model filler, followed by repeated priming and sanding back with 1000-2500 grit paper. Thank you, I can't help being a little smug when looking at it as compared to it at the start, but it stil could have been better. Thank you for your kind comments, The detailing of this kind is a first for me and I am making it up as I go along hoping it doesn.t appear to be too awful! I wouldn't say that, but it is nice that it must at least be not too bad, lol
  9. I am currently working on filling the cockpit with a little more detail around the driver. I have also done quite a bit of work around the chassis which i will post later.
  10. I detailed the driver, this is the first time I have done this, I have really shaky hands due to meds etc and it was not easy! I have however progressed this a bit further to add detail to the cockpit (currently in progress) I made a roof lining, and also a rear view cockpit mirrror to more closely resemble that on the box. I made and fitted some windshield wipers and it wasnt until after fixing them I realised that they were the wrong way round.. Not going to drill any more holes so that will have to do!
  11. Applied the decals after using low tack tape over the front of them to keep them together while I applied them. unfortunately I rubbed some of the paint of the rear arch and after putting some laquer on it, I then got impatient and pulled the tape off while the paint was soft. As you will be able to see in the later photos, I added some decals to "hide" the fact. I also added a third decal on the top of the arch between the other two to hide the rubbed of basecoat
  12. Starting to pick out the detail on the front and the rear unfortunately I got over OCD on the rear and made a mess of the letters, the second time the paint finish is far inferior, but it's going to have to stay for now. and the windscreen edging I then paint a clearcoat over it
  13. Then onto a base coat of TS-19 metallic blue, and sanding back and another coat etc.
