Avante2001R 305 Posted December 31, 2014 I seem to remember that the 4WD car that was used in this event was some kind of hybrid of using a dyna storm rear gearbox with a belt going to the front. What ever became of this concept? was it ever sold as a kit? After that I never really followed much of the RC scene. Also the 2wd car, was that a Dyna Storm on steroids? qatmix 794 Posted December 31, 2014 The 2WD car that was the dynastorm actually was a prototype dynastorm. The shocks were the same (just not anodised), the chassis had carbon plates and a different top deck which was changed but the plastic moulds were pretty much the same. The shell was different, I think it was a parma shell.
kontemax 1725 Posted December 31, 2014 You are speaking about the TRF 211X. The model was a prototype with handmade arms and bathtub chassis with glassfiber plate on the rear. The shocks were the sleeved dampers but is noticeable that the front ones are the never produced mini ones. Many of these solution went to the Dyna Blaster. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=69011&sid=22258 There were also a later version more close to the Dyna Storm that we know with better materials: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=26134 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=29594 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=27449&sid=5594 http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.rcfan.net/trf211x/1.html&ei=Q-AES5PkFYqDngf9iLm6Cw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CBQQ7gEwAw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dtrf211x%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=33172 I remember also a version with Super Astute parts like the arms or the battery tray for example: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=17681&sid=470 Max
Avante2001R 305 Posted December 31, 2014 I went along to the 4wd day and saw the car they were running, I believe it had a parma bodyshell and looked like a reverse mounted dynastorm gearbox, I took a load of pictures but cannot find them. If anyone has any info or pics would be great. Thanks for the TRF 211X links will check them out

What ever became of this concept? was it ever sold as a kit? After that I never really followed much of the RC scene. It was the TRF411X and, unfortunately (IMHO), it's a road that Tamiya decided to not take. Only 100 kits produced... I could pay with my blood for a re-re.
