Skottoman 306 Posted November 3, 2011 Ok, I wasn't sure where to put this, but I wanted to share my build of my first CC01. Also pretty much my first "Scale" truck. It's pretty exciting to put all the skills I've learned in my on-road stuff into an off-roader. Scale at that. Because I'm mainly an on-road guy... I've been inspired by TC member Seth/Wyoming... and want to build something unique. That said... I have NO experience building scale trucks. I'm sure my eye for what looks good leans more toward on-road, so let's see how it translates to off-road. Here it goes... (I decided to skip the "build" steps, and now have a running chassis). Here's where the fun begins. After 1 day I'm here. Cheers, Skottoman
lee1980 71 Posted November 3, 2011 nice rear flat bed, be interesting to see this finished. Box is brown and not like a box art box are they all like this now?

lee1980 71 Posted November 4, 2011 yeah them CC01-with-recycled-bodyset been getting some varied boxartlike the CC01 FJ40 is a photo picture not lineart drawing Ahh I see shame, when buying anything tamiya the box is always just so cool, with the top and sides that have sections and details of model, even when its static models to. Shame they have just photos on some kits now.
ideal2k 3 Posted November 4, 2011 That's pretty neat looking. Honestly I'm not big on crawling, so these scale chassis' have more of an appeal to me.

WillyChang 1814 Posted November 5, 2011 liked it better with the wooden slats either stained or clear varnished...
Skottoman 306 Posted November 5, 2011 liked it better with the wooden slats either stained or clear varnished... Oh, the wood is still there... In that photo they're just protected by masking tape. Stain? Varnish? leave natural? Not sure yet... Cheers, Skottoman
ideal2k 3 Posted November 5, 2011 Make them slightly brown, like they're made from those woods they use on boats.
