  1. Try the glue that's used for putting plastic plumbing pipe together. It's a bit thicker than normal modelling glue. You usually see it in blue or green but a good hardware will have clear as well.
  2. I'm in Australia, not quite sure what the latest rules are here at the moment, it's been a while since I got them out. It's an AM set, the 3GR-FS is FM, hense I'd have to swap all the receivers over, that's not an option at this moment.
  3. Hi all, been away a looonngg time but have decided to drag out the old cars and have a play. Well some idiot, probably me, left the batteries in the transmitter (futaba 2ER / T2ER) and they leaked all through it. The circuit board now looks like a Weet-Bix , totally nutted. I only ever had the one transmitter for all the cars, since I only have two hands I can only use one at a time, I just swap crystals in trans to suit car. So, being a smart fella, i got on fleebay to find another one and woohoo, I found a brand new N/O/S one listed.........YES! Now, here's the problem, it's 40mhz and the one I had was 27mhz. I had a look at the manual and am not quite sure if it cover multiple versions of the 2ER or not as it states it works 27, 29, 40, 41, 72 or 75mhz. Is it a case of fitting the crystal, i.e. 27.45mhz in the plug and away we go, or does it need 'surgery' to make it change from the 40mhz range to the 27mhz range? If this isn't possible, does some one know where one can purchase a 27/29mhz AM stick type transmitter? I've been searching the net but it's doing my old head in. I have a Futaba 3GR-FS that I bought and never got round to using as it required changing about 10 receivers, too exy$$.
  4. Not 100% sure but I think they wild Willy and wheeler versions are shorter w/b. I know you didn't ask about them but thought it might help.
  5. What?!, Tamiya scrimping on parts?............Never!!! Oh, unless it saves them money.......then they will. :-)
  6. Two runners, in case one needs fixing. :-)
  7. I use Dettol to strip paint off, it doesn't appear to affect the plastic as brake fluid does. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73854&hl=dettol#entry550412
  8. I've posted stacks of them. I just write 'toy car part' in the description. Never had a problem in 25 years. I've got a few NOS hump batteries.
  9. Yeah, I don't know why they do that, it's not like it's anything special. Even though most of my cars are shelf queens, they all get proper bearings and super lube in gearbox.
  10. make more cars with hard bodys, the P/C bodies should just be for the budget line. Oh, and yeah, drop the weirdo bear, it's seriously a bit strange.
  11. where did you get them, I've only found rims
  12. You could just use a real can. (fit extra batteries in it)
  13. Tamiya should do a Wild Willy style kit as well.
  14. 57, two days ago, although I must be going backwards because the older I get the more toys I buy.
  15. Oh well then in that case I think you're not allowing it to be used as it should, set it free to cruise the cycleways............sell it to me.
