Wandy 1527 Posted July 10, 2015 If Tamiyablog are saying it, and have a model number then you can all but guarantee it is true. So it looks like Dante's contact was correct. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=76615&p=592996
Klausen 1197 Posted July 10, 2015 Title changed. Really hope this is correct, will be awesome with a few of these under the christmasttree
Sandster 285 Posted July 10, 2015 I am nearing completion of my monster beetle restoration so I can pretty much guarantee that there will be a rere along soon. Lol
Klausen 1197 Posted July 10, 2015 Also finished my resto a couple of months ago, but will definately add a rere to the collection. This may be the first time I do what I would like to do with all cars. 1 runner, 1 shelfer and 1 NIB. The MB is one of my absolute favourites from back then. Wandy 1527 Posted July 10, 2015 It will be interesting to see if they do anything with the gearbox. And how the price compares to the Frog. You would have to think that the original Blackfoot is now inevitable too. Would it come with the Ford F-150 nametag though? If so, then that nails on a Ranger SRB re-release.
Newsh 111 Posted July 10, 2015 Happy days. Hope this is true. Need to buy two, one to run and one as a shelf queen Will need to buy the missus something nice to distract her
CyberFox 1 Posted July 10, 2015 And how the price compares to the Frog. It's announced for 170 Euro in a french webstore (pre-order).

Just doing the paint on my beautiful shelfer. Ours will be better than a re re I'd like to see an official solution for the **** gear box for my runner though. Wandy 1527 Posted July 10, 2015 It's announced for 170 Euro in a french webstore (pre-order). I think a price similar to the Subaru Brat is likely. Around the £135 mark here in the UK.
Wandy 1527 Posted July 10, 2015 This is the French shop that has them available on pre-order. http://www.rcteam.fr/kit-a-monter/17841-tamiya-vintage-monster-beetle-kit-58618.html I'd say it's fairly certain that this is happening. Unless Tamiya take the hump at the "leak" and delay it....like they did with the Egress at #58500.

markbt73 5316 Posted July 10, 2015 Happy days! I can keep my resto as a lifer shelfer and finally have a runner MB!!! Just what I was thinking: my Blackfoot can rest its old brittle bones and let the young'un handle the running chores. I guess we're imagining an original-style ORV chassis with the same updates as the Frog/Brat?
Wandy 1527 Posted July 10, 2015 Would they dare fit it with King Blackfoot rear end? You get a better runner, and if you want the original look for a shelfer fit it with a 'box from the re-re Frog.
NWarty 1325 Posted July 10, 2015 Honestly, why they chose this over the BF escapes me? Licensing issues with Ford? Anyways, I'm excited. Always wanted a MB
Terz1 745 Posted July 10, 2015 Wow now this is exciting. The monster beetle is my favourite tamiya. I wanted one so bad I bought a wt01 mudblaster and got a sandscorcher body, painted it red and bought the MB decals to make a modern MB. This is going into my collection the day it's released. Can not wait!
Terz1 745 Posted July 10, 2015 -Just to add guys. How long is it before they release the parts for new re-releases? Is it at the same time as the model? I'd love some of those gold wheels to go on my wt01 MB. I'd love if they changed them to hex fitment too.
