  1. Save yourself a lot of headache and heartache. 1. disassemble, clean, reassemble and shelf your original Monster Beetle. Replace any broken pieces (with vintage if you can), and make it as new as possible. Put it on the shelf to look at and be all nostalgic and stuff. Lightly drive around the kitchen floor. 2. buy a re-release Monster Beetle kit and build that. Drive this one into the dirt. Find and buy the 3D printed transmission brace. The plastics and rubbers on the original MB have likely gotten very brittle with age (the plastic on my Frog did), and will likely break with every drive (my Frog did). You'll be happier to just build a new re-release than you will slowly repairing your original. Terry
  2. I started a thread a few years ago but never finished it… https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/100641-vintage-srb-and-others-wheels-and-tires/
  3. If you buy the new Hornet One Piece wheel, you can fit many different 1.9 touring and rally tires. For the 1.5 kit wheel, your options are the Paddles (GH) or Spike (H) for the rear. There is only one front tire available. There are also third party options but they tend to be expensive bc of rarity. Personally I like the vintage Duratrax 1.4 tires (a few varieties available).
  4. Last bump and then its going to the LHS free stuff bin…
  5. The BBC wheels are 26mm wide x 52mm diameter, ie standard 26mm touring and rally size. At least that’s what Ive gathered from the googlez… To answer the question (maybe), to fit BBX tires to the SRB, use the new Hornet one piece wheel set. https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/wheels-spareoption/rc-hornet-1-pc-lg-dia-wheels/
  6. Thank you @Aerobert for the beautiful red shocks! I found some time to install on the Bushy D. Looks ace!
  7. Red shocks for the Bushy D thanks to @Aerobert
  8. Its all black now… I want some black Long Shocks for my CC02…
  9. Didn’t make it through. But feel better today. Onward!
  10. I do just like Alvin, but add a second tube of shrinkwrap over the entire plug when connected (over both ends). This helps keep it connected, but allows you to pull apart if needed. And it provides one more layer of protection for the wires.
  11. Wasnt there a DIY former project a couple years ago?
