What would your ULTIMATE Re-Re kit be?

Recommended Posts

As the topic says, describe your ultimate re-re!

As this is purely hypothetical, let your imagination on what is involved or included run wild!

I'll start:

Dyna Storm (technically a re-re-re!).

I would love to have a Dyna Storm that's been given the Avante 2011 treatment:

Updated and reinforced diff parts

Modern assembly type CVD driveshafts

Carbon chassis plates and shock towers

Updated Sleeved Dampers (like the re-re Hi-Caps).

Also, slightly less likely specs:

Plastic parts moulded out of reinforced resin

Aluminium TRF Style rear wishbone hangers

Classic style Star Dish wheels resized to 2.2"

TRF style hex head screws

Brushless 'Acto Power Pink' style motor (9.5t)

This would be my ultimate re-re buggy!

The Top Force would also be pretty epic if given the same treatment. It may be too close to an Evo, but I'd take it all the same!

Ultimate Tamilya re-re will always be Old #1.

A proper authentic pan chassis original 934... not the TamtechGear or the Anniversary 1/10.

Now that 3-speed models have been re-released, I am not sure I could qualify a favourite re-release on complexity.

But for the sheer insanity, I would love to see the Striker re-released, and then another version with upgrades such as:

- TRF dampers

- a metal universal joint set or even a CV joint set

- double-wishbone front suspension

- larger polycarbonate rear wing

- either an updated reinforced lower chassis mold, or a separate metal brace

- a polycarbonate top shell

- front and/or rear anti-roll bars

We shall call it... drivable! But since that all appears unlikely, it looks like I will have a project on my hands...

Other than that, probably the return of the classic F2 cars on a derivative of the F104 or even the TRF101. These would therefore be built much like the modern F1 cars that Tamiya has produced.

However, I think I would like what WillyChang suggested with the Porsche 934 and see a hard-core re-release of a vintage model - metal chassis plates and everything! It would understandably be very limited production, and would do more to serve as a tribute to the very first cars as opposed to as an actual performer. Sure; collectors will tear up, but not too many of them if production numbers are very limited.

Blazing Blazer - so much less static looking then the other three speeds, looks like it moving when it's sat on a shelf.

Only got to wait another two years for that to happen. ;)

I agree with Willy though, the ultimate "Holy Grail" is now 58001, brought back in completely original form. And all joking aside, I DO think it will happen.

For me they have already done it (in 2010) - the Sand Scorcher... however, I'd like to see the 959... albeit with a hard body - that would be sweet!

.

AGREE. The Blazer is my only choice, others are nice but ...

The Porsche 959. I absolutely love that car. I can't bring myself to buy a used one at an outrageous price just because I like to run my cars, and I wouldn't dare run an old 959 due to the high cost of repairs that would eventually be needed. Every year I hope against hope for a re-re so I can buy one or three of these lol. I have really been enjoying running my Carisma 959, but it's not the old T Porschy I used to have so much fun with. For the love of all that is good in this world, Tamiya, please re-re this car!!!

+1 on the 959 or Celica. I think they would sell like crazy, so bet they will be rere'd at some point.

An original Monster Beetle would be nice as well, and very easy for Mr. T to rere.

But one thing I still like to see rere'd is the old motors. Technigold, Tecnipower, Technituned and so on. But I will be quite surprised if that ever happens :o

This, a hard body 959 would be amazing! It would need to be on the better Celica chassis though complete with Technigold too!

I will sound like a scratched record, but Madcap or Astute buggies. If Tamiya can have at least three different 4WD buggies on the go, I think another 2WD could survive alongside the more modern offerings right now.

+1 for the Super Champ.

And of course I want a Willy's Wheeler. The original chassis would be fabulous but a WR-02 would be acceptable and cheaper too.

Someone on ebay bought a NIB partially build 58001 the other day for $75 BIN. I clicked as soon as I saw, but that sucker was gonnnne.

Willy's Wheeler. I would nearly break a finger stabbing the BIN button for that re-re.

Another +1 for the 959! Its the only way I can get this wreck back on the road, OMG those parts are just way out of my budget :o

I want a Marui Big Bear! Not a tamiya obviously but was my first decent RC.

So much fun pulling wheelies down the street with that thing and it definitely took a beating.

As it was my first rc car, a Cheetah with a proper 4wd chassis and maybe the Tlt Wheels/tires :)

I will also get the 959 when they rerelease it and also the Blazer.
