ford escort mark 2 bodyshell

Recommended Posts

I was told yesterday that Tamiya are brining out a Mk 2 Ford Escort bodyshell pre-painted in Rothmans livery.

Anyone else know about it?

They're not :(

Recently, there were pics of one on Tamiya UK's FB page , but they were mentioning the Rally Legends line of shells.

Rally Legends and Tamiya are both distributed by HobbyCo, so it looks like it was a bit of cross-company advertising on Facebook.

The 'album' carried the text
"Beautiful body shells featuring evocative rallying icons suitable for Tamiya TT-01 and TT-02 chassis"

That is rather lovely, but for me, the mk 1 is where it's at. I'd be excited to see what else they kick out and whether they re re the 97 era Scooby.

Looks like the guy who told me got his wires crossed. The MK2 Escort looks good, but yes it would be good to see a Roger Clark MK1.

They're for sale already, any Tamiya stockist should be able to get them via HobbyCo
They're 'Rally Legends' though, not Tamiya

It's worth checking them out in the flesh before paying, I've seen a few Alitalia Lancia Stratos where the 'paintjob' has been printed off-centre

Just had a look at their site; some very nice cars there! I like the Audi and the Fiat 131 and the Lancia Fulvia especially. But no pricing or ordering information. Anybody know where these are available online?

Their detailing looks as good as Tamiya.

They are coming up with the 037 Martini - looks very detailed.

I hope they produce the Subaru 22B STi 99" shell.

I like the look of the Iveco Trakker, but I wish it was in 1/10 scale.

Having a collection of 1/10 scale cars on display, it would look rather small and a little silly in comparison. To me, a Dakar truck is meant to be big and impressive, dwarfing other offroaders. I don't want one that is no bigger than my cars!

Here's an example of why they need checking before buying

This is two sides of the same shell (Fiat 131 Abarth WRC 1981)

From a distance they're ok, but for a shelfer the paint bleed might be a bit much

The Rally Legends Delta bodyshell pales in front of Tamiya's Delta.

What is your ebay store called? The link in your profile page doesn't seem to be working.
