  1. If of any use I spent ages trying to identify an ESC that was small enough to fit between the decks but capable enough for 2S and a powerful motor. The Kyosho Le Mans option is reportedly underwhelming. Got there eventually, Hobby Wing XR10 Pro (stock spec) and 13.5t brushless. It’s pretty quick.
  2. Finally finished mine and got it running. 9.5 turn brushless Speed Passion and Reventon ESC FlySky FS-GT3B Radio For running, also : Tamiya 51241 High Density Spike Tires K Tamiya 53880 Large Dish Wheels Not even going to run the stock wheels - too nice ! The first ESC/Motor combo had to sent back to Modelsport as they cogged badly. They were great, tested them and sent me replacements that work fine, although reverse is still sometimes hesitant. Some shakedown footage .It's a little quicker than my vintage Blackfoot and the steering is very fast.
  3. Presume you are looking on your iphone and it's upside down, odd, does it on mine too but on the mac it's fine. Anyway, here's some footage I'll see how much I can do them for.
  4. I wanted to a mount for a Go Pro camera for the Roll/Light bar of my Blackfoot. We have a 3D printer at work, so a colleague designed and built this for me : Works really well. Thought some might be interested, let me know if you are. Cheers
  5. Did some investigation into my issue, seems to be cogging. The drive train is fine, but when I run it with the motor not connected it mostly doesn't turn under light throttle, needs a helping hand. Same thing.Running out of ideas now, I've updated firmware, rset the ESC, checked the sensor cable and checked all the gearing. Mmmm...
  6. Many thanks for this - I will investigate. Here's a pic halfway through my build (we love pics !)
  7. I finished my build and installed the electonics, Speed Passion ESC, Motor and Flysky radio. The ESC was a ball-ache to set up, reversing servos and adding braking etc, had to re-comission an old Windows PC and install USB drivers etc, haven't had to do that for years.. Anyway, generally all works, but the rear gears seem to slip, especially when starting off slowly from a standstill. Once the drive train is rolling (when stationary) it is fine, but something is slipping before it gets up to speed, almost like too much torque. I've taken it apart a bit, the ball diff seems ok, the pinion etc seem ok, but something is causing this and I can't figure it out. Front drive seems fine. Wondering if anyone with a bit more experience has any advice ?
  8. Thanks. I went Speed Passion 9.5 eventually, so we'll see how I get on. Meanwhile....the build.... I'm not quite sure how tight the diffs need to be. The instructions (to me) get a bit confusing at that stage, with several parts saying 'tighten 'till they stop roating freely' or 'do up tight then release one turn' etc. Anyone have some clearer guidance on that part ?
  9. Just finished painting and stickering a Parma Polycarbonate Blackfoot bodyshell I bought a few months ago. First time I have tried anything like this and it was fine. It's not perfect, but it's for running. Just need a roll-bar and lights from ebay.
  10. Finally got a 2nd hand NIB 2013 Egress after months of deliberating, can hardly bring myself to touch the blister packs Just soaking up the presentation at the moment. My other car is a vintage Blackfoot I restored last winter, all the original stuff still worked fine, I just added a bearing set, some new pivot gears and a new battery. But kept it old school with the MSC and Techniplus radio etc. For the Egress I want to go modern with brushless and ESC etc, but the choice is bewlidering. Much of the ESC kit looks way over specced for me, I don't need to adjust much, it's not going to get run too very often. So any nice radio/servo/ESC/motor combos people recommend for the Egress ? I want it to be fast, but not ridiculous, and I fancy trying out a wheel transmitter (need to break out of the old school). Cheers !
  11. I'm missing one tail-light Looking good though, I'm toying with a Lexan Parma body and it's more practical (takes the knocks and is lighter). What are those shocks ?
  12. Luckily my original '86 Blackfoot never got given away/trashed/car booted by my parents. So glad it's still with me, the best present I ever had and hopefully my kids can enjoy it too. Couple of bits replaced and some long awaited oil dampers, apart from that all original.
  13. Are the rear springs stiffer on the back ? Mine also seem overdamped at the front.
  14. That's cool. Love the multi angles. I'm now inspired to install my Go Pro on the Spot Light Bar above the cab of my Blackfoot. Project for the weekend sorted.
  15. Just replaced both rear plastic axle arms/suspension mounts (cracked) and installed Monster Beetle Dampers. I think the softer springs go on the front, but would appreciate some guidance there. The front sags a bit after compression, but I guess pops back up when acclerating or going over bumps. The dampers themselves seem fine.
