  1. I'd recommend the HPI X-pattern tyres (belted or unbelted) - loads of grip and last much longer on the front than the kit tyres. You'll need to get the HPI wheels as well though - they're too loose on the kit wheels.
  2. quote:Originally posted by 1proteus1well first pic ive submitted to pachi and its been successful http://tamiya.com/english/pachi_digital/05...oto_gallery.htm admittedly it was probably 1 of my best so far [] the purple izuzu mu top right and in the top right i see another tc member TWINSET the rest i dont recognise but if your there feel free to comment id="quote">id="quote">Excellent pic of the Mu - love the glint of the sun off the windscreen [8D]. Andy's Beemer looks good too, as does Bibbo's Porsche (second row, 2nd from left). Don't recognise any more TC'ers from the 'real' names.
  3. Anyone see tonight's Top Gear? Hammond and May were tooling around in a quarry with two full-size motors (a Scorpio and an Omega I think)fitted out with full r/c by engineers from Cranfield. They then brought on Krizti Rosenberg (evidently a teenage r/c champion of some sort [?]) with a 5-series BMW for a circuit race where she lapped May twice and then jumped the Beemer into a caravan (there always has to be a caravan involved somewhere...). Brilliantly stupid stuff [8D][8D] (Probably repeated somewhen this week if you missed it...)
  4. What a great concept [8D] There could be a whole family of 1/18th 'retro' buggies - Hornet, GH etc. and if they did a 4wd chassis (a la rc18t) then the sky's the limit - 1/18th scale Hotshot/Boomerang/Thundershot anyone?
  5. Have to say that our favourite is good ol' Pimp My Ride (on various MTV channels). X is hilarious, and the fellas at West Coast Custom have cornered the market in turning sow's ears into silk purses. As completely OTT entertainment, you can't beat it and the craftsmanship is top notch too. Of the more 'serious' shows, American Hotrod is good, although as Jim said about American Chopper, the petty drama can get in the way. BTW Avoid the uK version of PMR like the plague - it stinks [][]
  6. quote:Originally posted by tankmanHi all! I was just wondering if the metal motor mount and the alu prop shaft for the TT01 Chassis fit the Df02 Chassis? I seem to be getting mixed messages from my lhs (yes/no/dunno!) Thanks In advance! id="quote">id="quote">Yes - they do fit the DF02 chassis (I have them in my Gravelhound)
  7. I think you'll find that the wheel wobble on the Mad Bull is down to the steering rather than the shocks - there is a shedload of play in the linkages. When we had one of these, I made up a more rigid steering linkage with some ball-ends and threaded road and it helped a bit (you will need to dremel the front shock tower to get it all to fit properly). Failing that, just don't drive backwards [][]
  8. Thanks to all for the info - obviously got some more research to do [8D] Terry.sc - the V635 was a front-runner until she saw the dratted D500 steviedee - thanks for the offer - may drop you a mail at some point. cheers David
  9. Thanks Roop. My g/f's on Virgin PAYG and doesn't want to go onto a contract (not really worthwhile). I knew about the D600, but Virgin want 350 quid for it on PAYG [xx(] (must reflect Jose's fee for endorsing it []) . They still do the D500, but only in black and she wants a silver one... Bless em' [] Any other 1.3mp camera phones worth looking at in the same bracket (around 150 quid sim-free) ?? quote:Originally posted by WirelessI have a D500 - I guess the main thing you need to know is that it's been superceded by the D600. Mine was free and that was back in April, so I don't see why you should have to pay for it (unless you are on PAYG). quote:Originally posted by fury_diceAny of you gadgety types got one of the Samsung D500 phones? My girlfriend has shown an interest in one as a Xmas pressie and I need to know if there are any gotcha's with this model before shelling out (they're not cheap!). Any info gratefully received. 13. AFAIK, the Mu and the Type X are identical apart from the wheels/tyres, ride-height (spacers in the shocks and different springs on the Mu) and gear ratio (20 tooth pinion on the Mu, 16 tooth on the Type X). I think the Mu was intended as an 'on road' version of the XC chassis. As for the wing mirrors, you'll be lucky to track any new ones down. Ebay, or a 'wanted' ad here are your best bets. HTH. David quote: Originally posted by Brucie Hi there, I have just bought a second hand Isuzu Mu and it still has the standard Plastic bearing fitted, so as always i want to make roller bearings the first upgrade. I am unsure if there is a difference (if any) between the Isuzu Mu and the Isuzu Mu X type can anyone advise me on this !!! Lastly where might i find spares for the Mu apart from Ebay ? because i need to find wing mirrors for it. Thanks for reading and please advise if you can. Brucie [?] id="quote">id="quote">
