XB Sand scorcher bodies

Recommended Posts

I've searched TamiyaUSA for this item because I knew they were out there, but the stock number doesn't show up and when I asked at customer service they said they were unavailable in the US. Bummer. :)

Thought it was quite a reasonable price @ £53 + £11 postage to the UK

Guess we'll see them again on Ebay very soon, albeit at an inflated price, but surely it can't be that profitable as assume JR-RC will have loads more for sale.

I thought so too. It would probably cost nearly half that to buy the primer & paint alone? Seriously tempted to get one if Jason gets more of them in.

Sure he makes a profit, but JR isn't a price gouger like many I've seen on Ebay.

:)

i read my post back! i didnt mean JR,he is a very good fair priced seller.infact in my experience one of the very best on Ebay.

i meant to say that by the time those first 10 sold ,make there way back onto Ebay ,they certainly will be more expensive than JR's pricing

Do we think that these are genuine spare parts or is Jason merely splitting kits?

I see 4 available :)

Not on ebay. Are you sure your not looking at a finished listing?

Probably this one is a sanded-primed-sanded-painted many coats- fine sanded-clearcoated version.

Can see no other reason why the price went up that much.

I would have to sell the left leg to get one... :D

One thing is sure, these will not be sold out that quick...

At those prices you could get a local airbrush artists to paint a plain body, box art of custom colors in a similar style.

First price was "unreasonably" low.

Second price is unreasonably high.

Unfortunately jr-rc gave us an insight to his buy price. That's unlikely to have changed much so my conclusion is it's now a rip-off...

You can get a custom box-art SS shell for <US$120...

And some Tamiya XB bodies are shocking quality... I'd want to see one of these before throwing that much money at it.

I received this answer from a well known e-shop which has this body on order:

The body is more expensive because it

is a plastic body that has to be painted

from the outside which is way more difficult

than any usual lexan body.

Plus the currently very expensive YEN-Price

we assume that the price of the body can be

up to 160 Euro.

The question is if the second "expensive" ones have a better or should I say perfect finish compared with the earlier ones...
