  1. Mmmmm, Can Am...... Drool Any pics of the Lola....?
  2. So, after breaking yet another set of body mounts on my Midnight Pumpkin, I decided enough was enough. These mounts are just pathetic....!!! I bought a set of lunchbox alloy mounts and decided to fit a Tamiya Mini body shell to it. I also had a set of lunchbox decals left over from my sons van, so I did a lunchbox tribute....
  3. I just bought a load of xt60 connectors. Didn't take very long to replace all my tamiya connectors, and they are quite cheap to buy.
  4. This is very helpful for me too. What sort of esc do people recommend to swap to lipo....? Something that will run a brushless motor too...
  5. I stupidly bought a couple of new Nimh batteries from HK. Charged one up and went out with the midnight pumpkin, it made it all the way to the corner of our street before starting to fade. By the time we got to the park it was dead....!!!! In the 2 months of owning my MP I have yet to make it out and have a run without something going wrong.... It's becoming a bit of a joke now!!!!
  6. I don't think there is any paint that will stay on a wheel that gets used....!!! Those ones above probably live on a shelf somewhere warm....
  7. Hi, does anybody know where I can get some new body mounts for my MP....? I'm in the UK. Managed to break all 4 in one crash tonight...!!!
  8. Interestingly, I did the 5th shock mod on mine and it wouldn't wheelie properly. I took it back off again, and am running without anything on the back. The two little springs broke a long time ago. The back is now all loose, but it wheelies for absolutely ages and is really controllable. Weird...!!!
  9. The standards MP set up is very basic, and the motor position affects the way the rear suspension moves. If you have a look at the way the axle moves in the 2 slots, where those little springs are located ( if you still have them) you will see that it is very uneven. This will affect how the thing wheelies.
  10. No idea, my son has a lunchbox that he has absolutely trashed. It has slammed into numerous kerbs, benches etc and hasn't broken anything apart from the windscreen. Mine breaks every time it hits something....!! The 3racing one I have fitted looks a million times better than the tamiya junk, we will see soon enough!!
  11. Ok, so the new ones have arrived from Hong Kong today. Must say that the 3 racing ones look the best, so this is what I have fitted. They have a built in spring system that absorbs any impacts and will hopefully prevent any more breakages. The new ones arrived just in time, as I broke the 20 year old one today that I have been using for the past week or so....!!
  12. I found the best mods are the cva shocks and tyre foam inserts. Also gluing the tyres to the rim as the wheels were spinning inside the tyres when on a grippy surface. I tried the 5th shock mod on my MP and my sons lunchbox, but wasn't impressed with the handling afterwards, so removed them again. Love these cars so much, even if the shells have been destroyed within a month of building them...!!!
  13. Thanks for the help, I have ordered some kimbrough ones and some 3Racing ones, oh and some tamiya hop-up ones too!! Let's see what they are like, I'm liking the sound of the kimbrough ones if they are better made, as the standard tamiya ones seem very sloppy...!!
  14. Well it's a midnight pumpkin with standard geometry, but they are pretty big wheels connecting to the servo. The second time it broke, my son drove it into a kerb from a stationary start about 1 foot away. I was not very impressed when that little knock snapped it...!!!
