What food reminds you of RC?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I am looking for ideas for RC-themed snacks for an upcoming party.

Have you ever looked at a piece of confectionery, sweet, chocolate bar or whatever, and thought to yourself, "That reminds me of a (insert RC car component here)"?

If so, what was the food item, and what was the car part?

Thanks!

Definitely the spaghetti that reminded me of the steering tie rods on my F103!

Total loss? Like in loss of tooth crowns and dental fillings? :)

There's no food that reminds me of Tamiya, but then there's still Tamiya wine.

That licorice (drop) is probably a local thing. This is what the German version might look like. :D

Cheesy Quavers and lemonade, then Chinese chicken curry.

My local race club used to be 5 minutes from work but an hour from home - so I'd leave work and go straight to the race club. I'd race until way past my dinner time, so to keep the hunger at bay I'd buy a pack of cheesy quavers and a glass of lemonade.

I'd then take a detour on the way home to pick up a chicken curry from the Chinese takeaway.

Those foods always remind me of Tamiya.

Then things changed, and one of my race buddies started bringing a selection of Party Rings and Ice Gems to the track every week. One time we glued some ice gems to the top of my touring car. For a long time I talked about making up some Party Ring decals for people to put on their race wheels. Talking about it was a lot easier than doing it.

I'm sorry that doesn't help with your RC-themed party.

I recognise your username - are you also on scale4x4.org?

For me I can't really think of much food which reminds me of RC.

Though when I was a kid (probably 5-6 years old) my dad used to work at an electronics place and one morning he made me a bowl of cereal - Honey Loops to be precise (I think you can still get these?).

Anyway, somewhere between making the cereal and bringing it to the table some small 'E-clips' fell from his shirt pocket into my cereal. It was really crunchy and it took a few mouthfuls before I reaslised something was up.

So Honey Loops now remind me of E-clips.

Burnt toast?, just had a lipo go up in smoke, seen a few other meltdowns (motors, esc, even receivers) over the years

Golden Wonder Cheese and onion crisps, behind my back garden is a large playing field, as a lad I would hear someone running their car and I would grab a packet of golden wonder crisps from the kitchen and run down and sit and watch .... mmmm
