  1. Thanks so much for the feedback, Gentlemen !! I really, really appreciate that ! Happy Racin', Good People !!
  2. Thanks so much for your replies, Saito2 and El Gecko !! I really appreciate that ! I'm in the middle of 're-storing' my 1985 (I think) Tamiya Bruiser which uses the 'MSC' and it still looks good (& works too)! Well since it's gonna be a "Shelf Queen" I don't the lube is necessary, right?
  3. Hi Good People ! For those who are still using the 'MSC' in their cool vintage "rides", do you people use the 'Tamiya Switch Lubricant' ? Is it necessarily needed? Are there any other brands available? Any help/advise is highly appreciated ! Thank you, Good People !
  4. So sorry! Wrong thread..should've been in 'Vintage Tamiya Discussion' ! My bad!
  5. Hi Good People ! For those who are still using the 'MSC' in their cool vintage "rides", do you people use the 'Tamiya Switch Lubricant' ? Is it necessarily needed? Are there any other brands available? Any help/advise is highly appreciated ! Thank you, Good People !

  9. Thanks so much for the awesome info, Good People ! Really appreciate it !! Have a nice day, yo' all !!
  10. Hi Good People ! May I know what type of grease / lube do you Good People use for the 'Tamiya 1985 Bruiser 3 speed Tranny'? Is 'marine grease' any good? It's waterproof, right? How about the 'Bendix Ceramic High Performance Synthetic Lubricant' (or similar) which is used for 1:1 real car brake pads...it's for "metal to metal" surfaces...gears are made from metal, right? Your thoughts and advices is highly appreciated !! Thank You, Good People ! p.s. I'm planning to do a "full service" (well, sort of!) on the tranny guided by Mr. Koping Hu's manual! Wish me luck !!
  11. Yeah, it sure does ! I gotta thank (and I did!) to the previous owner who really did a good job on doing so! He just displayed this truck and never ran it ! Yes, the tranny is very smooth (I just pushed it frontwards and backwards) and I hope that the 'shift mechanism' does work because it didn't come with the transmitter ! I believe the correct transmitter would be the 'Futaba 4YWD' by looking at the R124 receiver .... I think I'll have a go on servicing the tranny ! Thank you very, very much (and to all the Good People as well !) for sharing some awesome info ! Really appreciate it !!
  12. Hi there, SupraChrgd82 ! Thanks for the kind suggestion ! Yeah, I did download the manual from tamiyaclub (a BIG BIG thank you to the all Good People at tamiyaclub !!) and I'll try to "study" it...soon ! I did also download a 'Tamiya Bruiser/Mountaineer Transmission Service Manual' created by Mr. Koping Hu and this is his website : http://www.kope.com/bruiser/ which I accidently bumped into. Some nice info on the Bruiser and Mountaineer as well ! Have you came ever came across the Transmission Service Manual, SupraChrgd82 (or anyone)? If you did, will you take apart the transmission?
  13. I'll most probably just leave it as it is ! Thanks lot for the info !
