Advise Please On Which Wheelie Models To Keep & Which Can Go!

Recommended Posts

Hello Gang,

So I am ready now to reduce my wheelies down from 5 to 3.

I know these are very subjective, but I do like to read about your views on these things!

So which ones would you keep and why?

2 have to stay until my youngest daughters have finished with them, so the Mint Vintage Pajero is on display in my middle daughters bedroom and the Mystery Machine Lunchbox is my youngest daughters runner, so that's a keeper as well!

So this leaves a very tidy M38 SWB, missing radio gear and a servo mount, an XB WW2 and a partially built HTC.

I like them all that's why I own them, but I am moving soon and my new house will not have a garage or a hobby room, so it's either the shed or the loft and I think that is a waste.

Money is not the driver, we don't run them much either, so it's just about the occasional run or how nice they look! My view changes daily btw....

As ever all tips and insights gratefully received, it's just a bit of fun and I appreciate you looking in.

For me you have to keep the M38 & it's a short wheel base so even harder to find in this sort of condition!!! -_- the WW2 & HC are re-re's so no contest :D

Ooh, tough choice!

I suppose it comes down to what you want the cars for. If you want runners, the Lunchbox, WW2 and HCT are probably the keepers because spares availability is so much better. But then, for display/nostalgia/joy of ownership, the Pajero and M38 are the must-haves. And if you change your mind later, those two will be much harder to replace than the others.

If it was me, I'd display the M38 and Pajero and keep the runners in the loft!! ;)

cheers,

Rob

PS: If you decide to part with the HCT, give me a shout?

So I'm going to quote you from your showroom statement..... "I regretted selling my Wild Willy last year and tried to buy it back". You will regret selling this one also. Although if you change your mind I have a few I could be convinced to sell. The lunch box is on my list to buy so when your ready let me know, the pajero is not that special to me but others like them. The WW2 is out there and available for replacement should you want it again and the Hct is nostalgia but not the real deal so you would let it go first if I was you. This probably doesn't help. But its my 2 cents worth

Best of luck

Dave

If money is not a driving factor then bung them in the loft until life provides time for them. It might be when the first grandkids are old enough but you will be glad you held on to them.

Are you sure you wheelie wheelie want to part with any of them? :D

I've heard the WW2 is a fantastic runner for a wheelie ride but I have never had the opportunity of running one.

I think a lunchbox is standard fare in anyones wheelie collection.

It would be hard to part with a swb m38... even if you don't use it... it is the OG Tamiya wheelie machine.

I also know you got rid of your GF-01 but I would be quitely considering the Heavy Dump Truck too at the end of this month...

I wheelie haven't helped your situation, have I?

The M38 is the only must must keep one.

Personally I would keep the WW2 and HTC for running to go with it but we each have our own weird reasoning for what we chose to keep and what we chose to sell on.

But I bet none of us recommend selling on th M38.

I sold mine and regret it daily!

The M38 is a keeper. SWB makes it a double-keeper.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts on the conundrum : )

The most popular one to keep is the M38 by the looks of it, the Pajero least interesting.

I'm going to continue to ponder and I'll let you know where I get too!
