jeekelemental 528 Posted May 26, 2015 I've bought this car in october, before my 40th birthday... a kind of present. After the massive resto-upgrade of my Super Astute I'm still in agonistic trance so this afternoon I've decided to have a look to my Monster Racer.I'm talking about a car built and placed on a shelf... unfortunately I haven't free shelves at home so, as usual, it will be a runner but with minor number of upgrades compared to the SA. chickenman242tk 266 Posted May 26, 2015 look good so far , I'd say that msc had a rubber bag on it at some point of its life and there is the remains

Build is looking great so far, that's one super tidy example you have there!!
jeekelemental 528 Posted May 27, 2015 This evening I've completed the disassembly. I'm positively surprised: most of screws is still shiny, gears are evidently never used and also bearings, drive cups, dampers... and it came for only 100 Euros! The only crak found:
Champ85 608 Posted May 28, 2015 Very nice example you have there. Love it when you buy something and it turns out to be so nice.
spinkle 15 Posted May 28, 2015 Great looking Hi Lux. Personally I would not run that chassis, far to clean/mint IMHO. They come up often on ebay but rarely without scrathes or sucffs, unlike yours which is great!! I would at least find a runner chassis and save the one you have for the shelf. jeekelemental 528 Posted May 28, 2015 Washed the parts disassembled yesterday I've cleaned some metal bits and I've choosen some parts I prefer to swap to the originals so I've assembled part of the front end. I figure it was better to start this 3D in the build section. :-)
kontemax 1723 Posted May 29, 2015 This model is new. I hope it will remain a shelf queen. Max
jeekelemental 528 Posted May 29, 2015 As previously specified it will be a runner, IMHO things are made to be used. Probably I will run it (as the big part of my car) only a few times a year but it has to run. :-)
