richb77 78 Posted April 23, 2014 Hi all. I am in the process of restoring a rather tired and messy sand scorcher. I want to use as much of the original car as possible and have cleaned up the beaten shocks, repaired them and will overhaul them. Now i have a choice of oils to use. On a recent trip to Singapore i picked up a set of Tamiya soft damper oils (#200, #300, #400). Which would suit the scorcher best?
TamTom 367 Posted April 23, 2014 Are you going to run the Scorcher? Otherwise keep the shocks dry. These shocks do not hold oil well. If you are going to run the Scorcher, use #200 or #300 and mount them upside down.
richb77 78 Posted April 24, 2014 I havent decided to run this or not. Chances are it will be a shelf queen...But i may occasionally take it out for a run. So..I have my can opener ready. What are my other options regarding shock replacement for NON leaking units?

What are my other options regarding shock replacement for NON leaking units? re-re SRB Shocks might hold oil better. Can anybody confirm that? My display re-re Rough Rider has dry shocks. Some others used some aftermarket or non Tamiya coil over shocks for their runners.
SteveU30 1011 Posted April 24, 2014 Have a look at RC Channel, they do very nice SRB shocks: http://www.rcchannel.com.tw/index.php?cPath=26&sort=2a&page=
