  1. Well, I’ve finished my build. It took about 12hrs to do the main chassis and a further 4hrs to do the shell with paint and decals. the Hobbywing 10.5T fit after a little bit of fettling and the esc with fan fits snugly behind the driver
  2. Thanks. I’ll have a look for that when I come to do the build.
  3. Yes, I’ve got the XR10. Just worried the fan will make it to tall to fit
  4. Thanks for the info. What esc did you use?
  5. Hi, I’ve bought a Super Avante kit as I fancied trying something 4WD. I also liked the idea of going Brushless, as I’ve never had one before, so I’ve bought a Hobbywing Justock Combo G3 ESC plus Justock G2.1 10.5T Motor. I’m now panicking that a; the motor won’t fit and b; the esc won’t fit because of the fan. Can anyone advise please. Cheers
  6. lol. Good job I wasn't hanging on to them for my pension then! It's still sparked a bit of interest to get something for my boys.... any suggestions on the sand scorcher rough rider type of thing? Regards JJ
  7. Yes, I did hesitate a bit before asking the old 'Are they worth anything' question! tbh I thought I would get a bit of stick for it! I was never going to sell them or bin them... although I could potentially move on the Lambo as it doesn't have as much sentimental value as the others... I was just curious about them Very glad i joined the club forum Regards JJ
  8. Thanks for the comments guys, I really appreciate it. I think i will go with the general consensus and hang onto them, It will be fun to restore them with my boys and get them up and running again. Although i think it would be prudent to get a couple of 'affordable' cars for them to build and race themselves! It would be good to see if that F1 car is as fast as i remember! Regards JJ
  9. Aaah. ok, I get the point! lol But are they worth much? I'm not intending to sell them, But it would be nice to know! Also, I'm guessing the servos, batteries, controller etc are shot. Are they expensive to replace? Regards JJ
  10. Great. Thanks for that. Not sure what I'm going to do with them now that I've found them. I've got to boys aged 10 and 13, so they are pretty excited! Will they be ok to use? As i was initially worried that they would have weakened with age Regards JJ
  11. I apologise ahead of time for how filthy they all are. They are literally straight out of the box from 35 years ago when i last played with them! JJ
  12. Not entirely sure how to do it properly, but this is a link.. http://s1279.photobucket.com/user/JakeJames007/slideshow/Tamiya Please feel free to correct me and let me know how to do it properly! Regards Jake
  13. Hi I've taken some pictures... I'm now trying to work out how to upload them! JJ
