  1. So I sort of pieced together a Ta02 from various parts I had lying around. It is really fun to drive as I have set it up for offroad with 2.2 size tires. My only problem is getting a body to fit it correctly since the front body mounts are super short since they were originally for a sedan. Does anyone know of potential replacement parts that would extend the body mounts or a suitable mod. I attempted to make some alluminum ones but after a couple of flips the ones I made ripped in half. I was wondering if longer ones existed or if anyone knows a reasonable solution. Thanks.
  2. Ok so I am looking through a box in my basement and I spot a Juggernaut chassis all tightly packed away. To tell you the truth, I don't recall when I actually bought it / got it. Was wondering if making a Juggy 2 is even worth my time or money as I can see attaining all the rest of it might become so pricey that it is not even worth my time. I am not one of those resto types. I would be building it to run for sure but if I were to do it I would ball race it of course. Any suggestions, tips, hints leads on parts would be greatly appreciated as I know very little about this truck to begin with and am trying to keep the cost reasonable. I have looked at the manual (thanks tamiyaclub) and looked at peoples rides in the showrooms but still feel a little overwhelmed by my lack of info about these trucks. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  3. Edit: Sorry accidentally double posted the same message.
  4. Take a look at my wild dagger for some inspiration. I recommend it and there are tons of available hopups parts and modified runners out there. It also shares parts with TL01s and TL01B as well as twin detonator and dual hunter and a variety of others. The gearboxes are quite sturdy and you can run pretty hardcore motors in it and it will hold up fairly well. I run dual titan 550s in it and it is a beast with dual battery packs ... although I had to get two battery packs in it by modding the chassis. Check out my showroom for more specific details.
  5. Sounds pretty sweet think you might post some video of a good run with it?
  6. Here is the link to the ride if anyone is interested in seeing my progress. I am really looking for body ideas since the TL01b now has the Dagger wheels on it. http://tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?c...9167&id=648
  7. Recently I outfitted my TL01 onroad and it is nothing short of stellar. After that project finished, I went to work on my Wild Dagger which is now a mega beast of a truck that I love. Anyone with knowledge of these two vehicles might know where I am going with this but for those that don't I will explain. I bought a while back another TL01 on ebay used and cheap to pilfer for parts if needed. I also have the arms from the dagger because I replaced them with alloy. I plan on making a little bit of a combo job with them for offroad (keeping the Baja TL01 in mind while I do it) but was wondering if there were any TL01 shock mount addons that would help raise the mounting holes up higher so I can get greater travel with them. I am also going to be adding the larger wheels from a dagger to give it that monster sized look which will also provide some more ground clearance. I searched around google for a bit but did not find any leads to a shock mount addon that would allow for larger shocks. If you know of any or have seen a project car with this type of mod please let me know.
  8. A quick question as I have never done this b4. Do I lock both the front and rear differential or just the rear?
  9. I used to be into reissues but now I am more interested in getting my hands on something a little more updated. The DB-01 seems alright and I have never actually gone with belt driven before. It would be worth looking into.
  10. I have been interested in buggys for a while but don't really know what is a good deal. I won't be able to go super highend but am looking for a kit that I can enhance over time and generally kicks butt. It would be nice if it were tamiya but not necessary to be so. Any suggestions?
  11. It is ref # 43508: 1/8 TNX but it has the upgraded shocks that came with the pro version of this kit which are the Proline PowerStroke dampers. http://tamiyaclub.com/car.asp?id=503
  12. Does anyone know if the GPM Aluminum BLUE ALUM. UPPER SUSPENSION ARMS TEC054 will allow for Pro-line - PowerStroke Shocks to fit. I bought a pair of arms before (Hot Bodies I think it was) and the upgraded shocks don't fit properly through the holes but the stock shocks worked just fine.
  13. I have recently updated my wild dagger in my showroom to show all the modifications that I have done thus far. I am pleased with the outcome and am waiting for the last battery to charge so I can see how it goes. Check out my showroom for all the details.
  14. Will the Novak 5210 Mod 0.5 Pinion Gear Set 11/12/13T fit the gb01 gears i.e do they mesh. It seems that the novak three80 brushless motor I bought for my tamtech fox requires this special type of modified pinion but I can not tell if they will mesh with the tamiya gear or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  15. I outfitted mine with a mamba sidewinder and accompanying motor and it flies like stink. Ball race it, get sports tuned gear set and lightweight chassis set but they might be hard to come by now. Ditch the rear bumper to lighten the load a bit and get a brace to hold the back of the car together. I will link you to my setup when I get some picts. Edit: added link to my TL01 in my showroom http://tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=97579&sid=648
