need help finding DT02 part

Recommended Posts

I don't believe on E-bay there are no shock tower parts for the DT02 in the US and can't find them any place also?

anyone know of a US place that has the DTo2 front upper shock mount my nephew crashed and broke it in half but I can't find one there used to be loads of parts on e-bay but not no more?

THANKS

Shen

Tamiya USA still has the DT-02 c-parts #9005987 in stock:

http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=9005987

So if you've got a hobby shop nearby, they should be able to order them for you. Otherwise, just buy directly them at Tamiyausa.com for $8.

While you're at it, why not thinking about getting a front shock tower reinforcement, e.g. Carson Modelsport #405007 for the DT-02 chassis (from Europe, http://tamico.de/Carson-Alu-Daempferbrueckenverstaerkung-blau-Super-Fighter-G-405007 ).

There are also other aftermarket shock tower braces by other manufacturers, e.g. 3racing: http://os.3racing.hk/products.php?products_key=2866 . :)

I would like to know why when I am asking members in the re release section where I can find a re release part my post ends up getting moved in the for sale section?

enough is enough already!!

hi Shen ,

there are quite a few on ebay uk , not sure if thats any use though as shipping would make it an expensive fix , you could also add your email to the waiting list for one of these , http://os.3racing.hk/products.php?products_key=2828 , not sure if more will be produced but many shops have them on order rather than saying discontinued , as long as its not a holiday buggy it should fit fighter buggies etc , :)

Shen, here's how the Carson #405007 front shock tower reinforcement gets mounted:

I'm not sure if it is available anywhere directly in the US, but there may be some helpful European sellers willing to ship to the US? You can even try contacting German sellers, the majority of them should do well with English language. Since it's just a small part, there shouldn't be any trouble with shipping costs to the US, unless you need it tracked and registered.

Hi Greg don't know if that part will help me as my nephews shock tower did not snap where the U shape is up top where the shocks mount on.

it cracked straight through the part on the bottom that holds the A arms on?

THANKS

I cracked two of the Tamiya ones in the same place, and then bought the 3racing carbon/ aluminium front shock mount and it has been great, some serious use and abuse and no breakages.

Edit to add: It was roughly the same price as the Tamiya one as well.

It cracked at the lower arms mounts? Well, then I've got a pro-tip for you:

Get some 3mm welding rod or similar rod. Cut and bend it into U-shape to replace the screw pins on the front bulkhead. It will act as a brace. Please see this thread for pictures, Speedy has some good advice on strengthening the mounts, too:

It's also recommended to use slightly longer countersunk screws than stock length for mounting the front bumper to the bulkhead from underneath.

I usually put a dab of goop shoe goo glue on the inside of the screws head where it screws up against the plastic and this holds the screws in very well.

You could always make one like the previous owner of mine did...

I am not sure why but the front shock tower seems to be the most commonly broke part on the dt02, I bought a few C parts trees when I had my two but never actually broke one. I replace a few from time to time at my LHS for customer though.
