Mitchymitchell 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Hi all, If i use vinyl cut decals on the inside of poly shell can i then paint over them? Or is this a no no? Cheers in advance, Matt
TWINSET 1793 Posted February 28, 2008 Is it plain, single colour vinyl or printed decals? Some companies, XXXMain, Orion and Jackal spring to mind, make internal decals which are designed to be painted behind The skull design here is on the inside of the shell, applied first, then painted over. The decal starts with/includes the thick black outline. All the other decals are on the outside.
WillyChang 1812 Posted February 28, 2008 yes you can paint over vinyl stickers, just 2 caveats 1) if the glue on the vinyl is easily eaten by the paint's propellant... it can go 'cloudy' 2) vinyl stretches & shrinks... overtime the edge with the paint can shrink away leaving a hairline gap
Mitchymitchell 0 Posted February 28, 2008 They are one solid colour (red) with no background...the only bit of the sticker is the actual writing which is on a backing sheet....they are cut from vinyl, not printed.....have alook at this to be explained clearer... http://www.bsmartergraphics.co.uk/example.htm Matt

Apply them to the shell, spray it, then peel off the decal and spray whatever colour you want the logo to be. That way, you can have it any colour you like and don't have to worry about it peeling off or, as Willy points out, shrinking. That's what I did with these;

caddy shack 0 Posted March 2, 2008 Mitchymitchell try xxxmain Lexan Picture Glue it allows you to glue magazine pictures or comic book images inside of your lexan body, before spraying over the top . Hope this helps next time. That glitter flake looks cool ,ive seen it on a few shells over the past week. c.h
