  1. Guys - THREE AVAILABLE...... I purchased these brand new but, typically, never got around to using them. Still in original bags, with instructions, and obviously in as-new condition. Currently retail at £20 each, selling them at £15 each plus delivery. Cheque, cash, Paypal (Gift) accepted. Collection from HR8 2XF (UK). Contact me for jpgs (I seem to have run out of alloted image space). Merry Xmas!!
  2. This genuine Tamiya complete body parts set comprises the polycarbonate shell (with protective film), window masks, Monte Carlo Rally decal sheet, instruction sheet, and two sets of injection-moulded parts (including chrome).Suitable for the M-03 chassis (210mm wheelbase). Any other chassis of the same wheelbase (and width) will also suffice, if you have one. £20 plus delivery. PM/e-mail for more jpgs! Merry Xmas!!
  3. Genuine ABC Hobby polycarbonate/lexan body shell (with protective film), with painting/marking sheet and very comprehensive decal sheet. The subject matter is the 'old skool' Toyota TE27 Levin. Designed to work with the ABC Hobby 'Mini' 1/10 chassis, it will also fit a Tamiya M-03 chassis or, with slight modification, an M-04 chassis - the latter will enable proper rear wheel drive and drift action! In fact any 210mm wheelbase chassis, of correct width, will suffice (if you have one). In excellent condition. PM for additional jpgs. £20 plus delivery. Merry Xmas!!
  4. I know the ABC Hobby bodykit fits the M-02 chassis but does anyone know for sure if the M-03 (Rover Mini) chassis can be used? Thanks!
  5. I'm tempted by one of these kits from a Hong Kong supplier on E-Bay (sausagedog - reputable, methinks, as people on the Forum have ordered with them). The listing suggests the kit includes the Tamiya ESC. However, other suppliers (eg RC Planet in the US) say the kit only has a 3-step mechanical SC. Can anyone clarify? Thanks!
  6. What's the difference between Tamiya PC and PS spray paints? Can both be used for clear Lexan shells? Thanks.
  7. I have an old (1980's) Acoms 35MHz set (I was briefly into gliders), the servos (AS-3's) from which I'd like to use with a recently-acquired (perhaps older) Acoms 27MHz AM receiver (it was free, as a complete set). I can't use the 27MHz set servos (ASA-227's), as they don't fit into the chassis. The problem is two-fold: (1) the AS-3 servo plugs are different (I can get around this by re-shaping)... but... (2) the wiring on the AS-3 plug is black-red-white - the 27MHz r/x accepts red-black-white (ie red and black positions differ). I guess I can cut the plugs off, switch them, and re-solder...... Unless anyone can advise on removing the connectors from the plug body? Did Acoms switch the positive/negative connector arrangement at some point in the past? Most other servos types have the black-red-white arrangement. Had a look on the Forum archives, but couldn't find anything. Suppose the better option would be to invest in a new set, but I like to re-use/re-cycle where possible. Thanks.
  8. Anyone know how many turns this motor has? Thanks.
  9. Ah...... now I understand - good explanation, thanks! Trouble is, the Cirrus receivers are spec'd from 4.8V to 6V, so I'm onto a loser. I'll probably buy an Mtroniks unit - more user-friendly and fully compatible with the Cirrus unit.
  10. Ah..... so I think you're saying that I can connect the Tamiya ESC to the r/x (via the 3-wire plug) and leave the red plug alone.....? The ESC will be powered directly from the 7.2V buggy pack and supply voltage/current to the r/x via the 3-wire connector (red and black) and receive the control signal via the white wire?
  11. TA-Mark - thanks. Now I'm confused! The Tamiya ESC doesn't have BEC? But it supplies the r/x with volts via the red connector. With the Mtroniks Viper units, they just plug into my Cirrus r/x, since they come with a Futaba-type plug. I thought the Tamiya unit would be the same but the red plug is different.
  12. Hello, friends! I'm new to RC cars but am an experienced RC boater. I've just purchased my first Tamiya kit - the Rover Mini in 1/10th scale. I've searched through the topics on painting (internal, clear polycarbonate shells) and think I have found answers to some of my own questions, but confirmation would be useful. (1) Can I use acrylic sprays eg from Halfords (without priming) - I think the answer may be no, as these make peel/crack/flake as the body flexes? (2) What's the difference between Tamiya PS and TS paints - PS is polycarbonate, TS is ?? (3) Where's a good place to find decals that can be used on the inside of the shell (before painting)? Many thanks!
  13. Hello, friends! I'm new to RC cars but am an experienced RC boater. I've just purchased my first Tamiya kit - the Rover Mini in 1/10th scale. The ESC supplied is TEU-101BK - I'd like to set this up with a 40MHz FM receiver so that I can use my radio equipment from boating. Question: this unit has BEC......what is the connector type on the ESC which is meant for the 'BATT' socket on a R/X? I use Cirrus R/X units (Futaba-type sockets), and the plug doesn't fit. Perhaps adapters may be available? Many thanks!
