  1. Hi Ritch81, presumably you're referring to the forthcomming Iconic Cup racing. I'm racing there with a TA04 too (in the standard Sport Tuned class). Presumably thats what your thinking of. I've had a practice at West London already and found the gearing needs to be as high as possible, with the 25/26 teeth it was mega slow compared to others who said they had very large pinions, even up to 32T. So I've bought the largest 04 pinion I could get which is 29teeth from Modelsport and found the 29T only 'just' fits on mine. I think the person with the 32T had fitted a 48DP or similar so incorrect teeth mesh AND he burnt a motor out too!! I haven't tried my car with the 29T on a track yet but Im sure its the right thing to do. I'm going to the Broxtowe Iconic fun meet next weekend (like many others that are taking part in the Iconic Cup), to get another practice run. Highly recommended mate. I'm very easily found even if you ask for Smitchos. Hope that helps mate, and good to see that other TC members are attending race meets. Regards, Simon
  2. Send Malcolm an email or message Super Gripper via TC, they're both super lovely peeps! - 'Please contact (Malcolm McDougall) at Tamiyatruckfest@gmail.com with any questions.'
  3. Well that's another year over of visiting the Tamiya Race Circuit at Snetterton Park. Certainly plan to return next year. Now that the venue have spent lots on the shop refurbishment, it will soon be the turn of the rc track and facilities. The shop have now RE-OPENED THE RC DEPT. IN ONE OF THE REFURBISHED AREA'S. See you all next year!
  4. Mr Fog, very briefly, BRCA membership gives a few benefits to any rc'er, but primarily it includes third party insurance when using your rc, so a serious recommendation, whether you're a racer or simply a park basher. If your car hits a person or even someone's dog, they can sue you. Many of us fellow TC members now have BRCA membership, at £17 per year. It covers us for using public parks (and beaches), in addition to using race clubs (either on race days or fun/open days). Just a recommendation mate.
  5. Just a quick note to remind and confirm that the next IconicRC meet at Snetterton is Saturday 10th October. It will be the last one of this year. As always, its an exclusive hire for the whole day, restricted to 1/10th - 1/12th electric only, so our vintage Tamiya models will be safe. Its NOT racing, simply free and fun track use for on and off-road stuff, including wheelie 'races' ('Lunchbox/Pumpkin' and 'Honda City Turbo/Willys Wheeler'). There's a growing number of fellow TC members appearing at these fun meets, but there always room for a few more! I hope to see you there.
  6. Hi All, the issues concerning PayPal and the S&HRCC club web-site for booking-in have now (hopefully!) been resolved. PLEASE CAN YOU CHECK THE DRIVERS LISTING ON THE WEB-SITE FOR YOUR NAME. If you don't see your name listed, please check your PayPal, and if its 'pending/unclaimed' or similar statement, cancel that PayPal payment and then re-enter the event again. The drivers names list will be up-dated every day hopefully, so please allow time to appear. If you still have problems, contact SUPER GRIPPER as above. http://www.shrccc.co.uk/calendar/20150927/tamiya-dt02-challenge.html

  8. As always, our last meeting at Snetterton was fantastic, lots of new faces in addition to the old regulars! The next IconicRC meet at Snetterton is Saturday 10th October. As always, the IconicRC fun meet day meets restrict the track use to 1/10th - 1/12th electric only, so your lovely vintage Tamiya models will be safe! Its NOT proper racing, its fun use as always (although we seem to have 'Lunchbox' and now 'Willys Wheeler' 10 lap races every time we go!). For more information, please see the other 'IconicRC' thread or better still, see www.iconicrc.com Facebook page!
  9. The next IconicRC meet at Snetterton is Saturday 27th June. PLEASE NOTE the IconicRC meeting is the Saturday ONLY. 11. Well doesn't time fly, its nearly that time of year again! Not done all of my on-road projects for this next Snetterton meeting, but hope so for the next one on June 27th+28th. F2 Renault - DONE Mardave V-Dub - DONE Others, maybe next time!
  12. Loads of classes to choose from, all I need to do now is get the car(s) ready. I wonder what I'll have ready in time! LOL Certainly gonna fly the Tamiya flag where possible.
  13. So thats 1, or sometimes 2 meetings a month now, fantastic Mr JWeston! Gone are the days (only a few years ago), where there was nothing rc to do!! Good to see so many fellow TC members at these meets now too.
  14. These meet ups are very much still alive! This Snetterton meet is now a part of the IconicRC series of fun meet ups as above, please keep an eye on the IconicRC thread and the IconicRC site/Facebook pages for more info. PRE-BOOKING NO LONGER NEEDED - would be good to see a few more fellow TC members!
  15. IF YOU CAN GET A CAR or a LIFT FROM FRIEND - as you're a midlands location, give one of the many IconicRC meets a try. There's plenty to choose from and not that far away for you. Please be assured that although they are at proper track locations, they are fun bash meets, where some have more than one area to play! Definitely recommended mate!
