Guys,
It's been a while, but I have now done a couple of updates on www.TamiyaBase.com
The last update was kind of a milestone for me, the site passed the 1000 MB limit B)

Anyway, size is not all that matters, so here are some of the new sections:
New damper overview section: http://www.tamiyabas...ers/dampers.htm
New on-road wheel comparisons: http://www.tamiyabas...eels/wheels.htm
Well, why dont you just hit the Tech section and see the rest for your self: http://www.tamiyabas.../tech/techs.htm

Don't forget the nice to have "parts" section when you can't see what the NIP ebay item actually contains...: http://www.tamiyabas...sparespage0.htm
And for entertainment, check out the vintage video section, now with 38 vintage Tamiya commercials: http://www.tamiyabas...video/video.htm

I hope you like www.TamiyaBase.com , and let me know if you have any ideas or requests for the site :-)

Thanks,
Lars

I absolutely love your Tamiya site Larbut.

Your dedication is unqustionable.

One of my favourite things is the scans of old Tamiya catalogues. Going through those really brings back some happy memories of being a kid and pouring over them deciding which cars I liked the best. <_<

Thanks!

Thank you all for the nice comments, it keeps me happy while expanding the site even more :)

This time I have added a "Chassis" section, where I stick my head out and define chassis groups among the first 100 models.

As usual there is a couple of additions to my collection, so you will now find information about the Tornado and the Willy's Wheeler.

Finally I have made some changes to navigation possibilities by adding some "back" and "forward" links at relevant places.

I hope you like it, and let me know if you have any requests or hint/tips as to where I should go from now.

I like this website very much, I use it regularly for looking up information, as it is a valuable resource for library pictures etc.

Also, Lars is a nice chap, despite being quite mad.

Thank you for creating the site. Must have taken you a lot of time and effort. The manuals were excellent, much better than TC if not full subscribe members and great source of information and interest like the inclusion of old Tamiya catalogues.

Just and excellent web-site!!

[Awsomne sit I love looking at the poster. It had actually slipped my mind that Tamiya did these. I wish you could find a way of printing these out as there is about 6 that would look great on my wall next the actual models.

If you do find a way let me know.
Thanks

Everyone,
After quite a few people asking for "non logo" posters and other stuff I am now working on a Download section.
It will take some time for me to get it organized, but stay tuned :-)

Oh, I am also woking on a tyre/rim comparison reference for offroad models, like the one for On-road models

Hi,
This is only to let you know that www.TamiyaBase.com has been updated again.

New things this time are:
- Offroad wheel / tire listing, helping you find what tire/wheel is original for your model
- New, for fun, listing of Drivers Names :) Like, what model did "Crash Cramer" actually drive?
- and some general additions, like Decals, an Astute, Manual and Box Art

And, I have started taking new and better pictures of my restored models, you will find them in "My Cars" marked with a star. Posted Image

I hope you like it,

Lars

Hi Lars,

Excellent site, and the on-line manuals have been really usefull for my Super Champ, Sand Scorcher, and Blazing Blazer projects. It's been fantastic knowing that there is a site where I can get the info I need on vintage cars.

keep up the good work!

Thankyou,
Rich :-)

Hi guys,
This is only to let you know that I have again updated www.TamiyaBase.com with new models, technical information, manuals, etc, etc..

I am very pleased that the "Wheels" section and "Chassis" section is now complete for the first 100 models.
Use the Wheels section if you need to find what exact wheels are original for your vintage Tamiya. The Chassis section shows what models share the same chassis and it's differences. Both are good to have when hunting parts.

Until later...

www.TamiyaBase.com has been updated!

It's been a while since last update.. It's not because lack of interrest, but time has not been on my side lately.

For those who hae not visited yet, TamiyaBase.com is a mix of my collection and a presentation of miscellaneous data and information regarding the first 100 Tamiya RC model.

Anyway, www.TamiyaBase.com is updates, so go check it out :-)

Thank you WW-nut :-)
.........

I have lately been working an a new Tamiyabase.com. The current one is made in an old version of Frontpage, and involves a lot of "custom" java and scripts.

So I have made a test site using one of the common CMS (Joomla).
Please feel free to visit at www.tamiyabase.net (note the "net" not "com") and let me know your concerns regarding the layout, content structure, etc, etc..

Any advice from you on what's good and what's not is most appreciated.

Registration and the forum is fully open, so just go ahead !

I like it! It looks modern and fresh. I would have moved the left frame completely to the left and stretch the main frame further to the right, though. But maybe it is just on my computer it shows like this. Your site contains lots of useful information, so it is great to see that you are keeping up your good work, Lars ;)

Cheers
Fritjof

I think you could update 1:1 Sand Scorcher now :)
If you are looking something to add to that excellent site i think more original Yen retail prices would be nice. And it would be nice to compare pricing between models and other makes.
