How I agree, I will listen to most rock, whether it be quo, queen, iron maiden, whitesnake or later stuff from foo fighters, red hot chilli peppars, green day, limp bizkit, linkin park, etc

I have a pretty eclectic taste though will listen to most stuff but cannot listen to drum and bass.

Scorchio, from the last time this topic appeared (propably was swept away in Chris's accidental sweep [;)]), most people here are into rock and metal.

I, like you, am more on the dance side, house, ambient, disco classics are my thing...
Cheers

Funny enough I have just finished loading up my mp3 player with albums for the Snetterton weekend... It features among others...

Gorillaz
Moby
PropellerHead
David Grey
Paul Weller
Macy Grey
The La's
Stone Roses
Soup Dragons
The Rolling Stones
The Strokes
Air
Bent
Mr Scruff
The Fugees
R.E.M.
Talking Heads
Sterophonics - (sorry mark & lard [;)])
and the Mighty ACDC doing what they do best...

and about another 10 - 20 artists

I'd say that was quite a wide 'eclectic' selection...

Again, eclectic taste.

Listening... Old rock (Zep, Free, Bad Co etc.), new rock (basically most of the stuff on MTV2 and Kerrang), decent dance/hip-hop (daughter's influence). Off to the V2003 festival with girlfriend, daughter, little bro and nephew in August so will see Chilli's, Foo's, Feeder, Coldplay - great line-up. Will only admit to liking New Country in the right company...

Playing... 60's/70's covers, 70's rock, 50's R&R, a few Robbie songs - basically anything that people can dance to. Gigs used to finance new guitars and amps, now.... you guessed it [:D]

PS. Saints for the Cup...

I have definatly seen the thunder from down under in concert a bunch,,,,,,

I like :

Old Allman Brothers (duane)
the Grateful Dead
Blues (muddy waters, howlin wolf, johnny winter, luther allison, etc. )
Gov't Mule (check em out)
reggae (israel vibration, peter tosh, sttel pulse to name a few)
some odder stuff (godspeed you black, drums and tuba)

ive worked in record shops all off my life (now doing a and r work for major record company)

So i have amassed a huge cd collection (about 1500 discs)

If its on MTV or TOP OF The POPS i hate it.
Lots of **** music out there today.

u2 and the peppers are two examples of bands that totally sold out and are making "overproduced music for the masses"

So..........

tamiyabeaterfleet :............I am sure would agree however that both U2 and RHCP had MORE than siginificant talent before they, as you seem to think, "sold out"........

As you have "been" in the industry - I respect your opinions........ as I do everyone else's.

So..........................

Must confess a 'hidden agenda' behind this posting. Been planning to sample RC car sounds to knock up a track with (I don't suffer for my art) and was wondering what 'vibe' to tap into, but last night while doing donuts in a dusty car park and recording it, I bent over to pick up my car and the portable that fell from my inside pocket[:(]. I now can't even get the tape out of the machine & it's as dead as a dodo[:I]. Sony take months to repair stuff and it aint gonna be cheap, so project abandonned indefinately (or at least till I get to hear the tape).
