I´m restoring a Frog at the moment (startet 3 years ago - before Tamiya came with the ReRe-Frog) and I´n nearly finished. Thanks to the ReRe, parts aren´t the prob anymore (won´t be an original-1st-edition-shelf-queen - just a runner)
Yesterday, I got my new spur-gear-package and I´m wondering which one I should use? I plan to power the car with a LRP Buggy Special (got this motor new for 2 years and I think it would be OK) that seems to be a normal 23T-Stock-motor.
BTW: Got the same problem also on my dark Impact - I´m "at war" with gearing-gear ratio-motor-calculations - Does anyone know a good source on the www that could tell a guy like me how to gear your car (I´m afraid I´ll never learn it - the best thing would be a short list which end-ratios works best with which motor)

Here's a good post on Gear selection for 1/10 electrics.
http://www.rcunivers..._3255405/tm.htm
EDIT:
Here I did the work for you since I never calculated thsi for the frog.
Rollout for frog with original Tires is 7.5397.
According to manual final drive for frog with 50Tx 18T = 7.3:1 (Standard), 49x19 = 6.7:1 (High Speed), 52x16 = 8.5:1 (Torque)
The
standard would have the best efficiency if using stock wheels. With
your 23T motor standard or HS would be fine, up to you if you want a
bit more top end or better acceleration. I wouldn't use the torque one
unless you got something like a 12x2, which is kind of suicidal for the
drivetrain.
