I have been obtaining these for years and never found out what they are for. I have built many kits and these have never come in any of them.

It's a tool (P/N 4305199) out of the clod buster/bullhead Tool bag (9405347),
The ninety degree cut out end set's the distance for putting the pinion on the motor shaft and the other end is for clipping on E/C clips :)

I looked through the manual and it has no illustration of it being included or used at all during assembly. I do have a few clods so I guess I'll hold on to them.

This is used for the "e-rings", I believe.

I have these in my Porsche 959 kits.

Not sure about the clod but it's definatly for the 959 pinion set up and e/c clip removal.

Mine came with my old Vanquish. I had no idea what it was for about 15 years. Once I figured it out, I was very happy. Makes removing & installing e-rings a snap. Use the big end to install big e-rings, and the small end to install small e-rings.

I always use the small end to remove both big & small e-rings. Works great...
