Hello all.
Excellent site I must say.
I'm currently restoring two M38's and using a WW2 as a runner with hop ups, firstly im sure its been covered before but would like to clarify with some people who have done this before. Paint stripping my M38 shells, as you could imagine I don't want to damage / warp or soften the plastic at all and sanding is a difficult option as there is so many little details that could be sanded half off in the process. So brake fluid dot 4, safe? how long should I use it? is there any risk? or should I try to track down a more safer alternative such as chamelon stripper (very difficult to get) thanks.

In regards to the WW2, what aluminium parts from other tamiya chassis will bolt up, iv seen some guys running blue aluminium control arms / turnbuckles what are they from? what other aluminium parts will bolt straight on?

Thank you.

Brake fluid is perfectly safe, just dunk it in there until it softens the paint. You can leave it for months with no damage to the plastic. A quicker alternative is heavy duty oven cleaner or caustic soda, both are more volatile than brake fluid so gets the paint off faster, and neither will harm the hard body. A search of the forums will lead to hundreds of examples.

For suspension parts the WW2 uses the same suspension parts as the TL01 chassis.
