I am not sure it counts, but I also collect fancy coloured diamonds. Some have been polished in recent times (modern cuts), others have antique cuts, up to and more than 100 years old. In any event, all were produced millions of years ago in the earths mantle and thrust up for us to find occasionally. Fascinating things and some of them make an original Black Porsche look commonplace :-)

Paul.

Yeah I thought about doing that too, but I couldn't decide between diamonds and solid gold bars, so I opted for neither until I could make up my mi.......are you kidding me?!

Years ago my humble collection of mid 70's Matchbox Fighting Furies figures got ruined because of some domestic issue. Still I got a quite interesting sum for what was left of it back in 2008 or 2009.
Well, I spent the last three years trying to rebuild it, and this time completely, including the elusive Europe-available-only Western lineup. Somehow I got the wind blowing my way, and with the help of some European and American friends I happened to get all six figures in amazing conditions for reasonable $$.
Last summer I finished the first case to show case the Pirate lineup. The second is been "in the making" since last February. Will get the second ready hopefully before next Christmas, ho ho. Here's a picture so I can stop the talking here. ;) :)

Blood diamonds? Isn't diamond not the most stable of carbons and in another 100yrs will turn to coal? ...may few more 1000 years.

I think one can buy real diamond...man made which is better the nature diamond based on the 3 C rating for diamonds. I think should be 4 Cs ...Cut, Clearity, Color and Cash/Cheque. The lab can control the pressure and temp. to make a perfect diamond at a fraction of the cost to a natural one. Man made diamond are real diamonds not fake. There are one or two company in the States can turn your grandparents to diamond, after they pass away, no joke. Some like the idea some find it distasteful.

Gold bar is better but so darn heavy.

Collecting RC cars is pretty recent for me, I started 2 years ago and now I have 17 cars.... But I also have a large collection of Lego Star Wars models, some vintage game consoles and games, and an 84 Mazda RX7 and probably enough parts to build 2 other cars. All of this takes quite a lot of space so I have to be very imaginative to store everything so its neat and tidy or else wife goes on strike. But my kids think Im the coolest dad, its a lot of fun seeing them playing with all the things I dreamed about at their age!
