Hi all, I`m looking for some at the minute and wondered if anyone had any recommendations or what to avoid? Ive always used acoms gear before and never seemed to have any problems, but is there anything else better and what shoud i be expecting to pay?

It depends on what you want it for. If you are planning on using the MFU with one of Tamiyas trucks or 3 speeds then you want to look out for manual trims on the transmitter, which is getting harder to find these days.
Choice is getting limited on 40mhz - I chose a 40mhz set myself as I already had plenty of spare multi channel receivers I can use with it. There are a bigger range on 2.4 Ghz as they are compatible with aircraft.
Spektrum radios on 2.4Ghz are pretty good value, and pretty popular because of that.
Futaba make a decent range with a good reputation. When Tamiya needed a radio compatible with their three speeds, the Futaba Skysport 4 was rebadged as the 4VWD. When I needed a multi channel radio as I needed a computer radio I went for the Futaba 6EXP, the extra two channels not costing much more over the 4 channel version.
