Scale Engine For The Sand Scorcher

Recommended Posts

I'm sure ive seen a pic on here, or if not, then else where. But is there such a thing as a scale sized engine that'll fit in-between the rear gear case and the rear cage on the Scorcher?

A member here (can't remember more!) does a sweet 1/10th VW engine kit in resin. I have one that I got for a project that stalled.

With some careful shaving to the back of the crank case it'd be right at home in there.

Sounds, cool. What's the detail like. And what did it cost?

The detail is crazy. Being resin, there is a LOT of prep work to get it together, though. Flat sanding mating faces, etc.

Cost, I think it was in the league of $40 or something. Been a few years :lol:

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/advancesearch.asp 'flat four' :lol:

Then this, searching for 'dummy'

Then Crash Cramer's comment on that entry led to this;

A quick look at his traderoom resulted in this;

For those with a more 'oooh, shiny' disposition though;

They go for anything from $200-$700+ on ebay by the looks of it

Thanks Andy, that jogged the memory. I am sure mine is one of Dale's.

Hey guys, I realize this is a very old thread, but I came across one of Dale's resin engine kits (the high-detail units in the last pics) in my project stashes. I'm never going to get to this thing. Is anybody interested in one of these? Let me know.

thanks

Are you talking about a sand scorcher? Or just the motor kit? I am not in a position right now due to the holidays, but yes, I am looking to find a Sand Scorcher. Can you send me some details, pics, and what you might want for it?
